Christmas was great, but why are ugly sweaters a thing?

"See I told you it would fit!" Alice said as she pulled a matching ugly sweater over my head.
"Worth a shot." I mumbled.
"What was that?" Alice asked.
"I love it." I said.
"Well you two can be corny," Amber said, "but y'all's sweaters ain't got nothing on this."
Matt and Amber's sweaters formed a skeleton Santa Claus, when they stood together.
"Matching Star Wars sweaters are very cool." I said.
"That and he's uncultured on anything else." Alice chimed in.
"Thanks for the back up."
"Anytime."
"Hehe, look at me." Emily said as the sweater kept falling through her body.
"Should we kill the sweater then give it to her?" Matt whispered to me.
"Do I look like I know."
After some sweater re-manufacturing we got the sweater to fit her. We spent the rest of the night poking fun at each other and dying in our sweaters.

BANG BANG BANG
I woke up to Amber hammering on my bedroom door.
"What-" I began, "Ow, that's my eye!"
"Man up. We're leaving soon."
"Oh yea, the vacation. Totally remembered." I said as I looked at my empty suitcase."You know? I liked it better when Grampa woke me up. At least then I didn't get punched."
"I'm gonna punch you again if you don't pack." Amber said as she shoved me back into my room.

"Whoa," Alice said, "what happened to you?"
"I tripped on the stairs." I said.
"You got a black eye from that?" Alice asked as we hopped into the camper van.
"Haha, yea right." I said glaring at Amber who was talking with Matt, "I got the cousin wake up call."
"Gotcha." Alice said as she pulled out a bottle of ointment oil out of her bag.
"Were you expecting this?"
"I'm dating you. Anything could happen."
"It smells funny."
"It's mint scented."
"My eye is going smell like a candy cane."
"At least your eyes weren't tossed into a lake." Emily chimed in.
"Thanks." I said as Emily began to drift off to harass Matt and Amber.
"Stop moving!" Alice said as she grabbed my hair to keep my head still so she could apply the oil.
"It makes my eyes water."
"Don't make me accidentally poke out your eye."
I kept my head still.

Mr. Dixon drove nonstop to the cabin in the mountains of North Dakota. As we drove up the mountain we saw what looked like a winter wonderland. The trees were white with snow and the sun made the snow glitter like the sea. We passed an old massive abandoned three story mansion. That's when we saw it, a figure of a woman staring down at the van. I looked over and saw Emily frozen still. I looked back and the woman was gone. Our nightmare began.
