<The one in the water>

"Well uh...this looks like the place everyone's talking about..." Nate says, peering down."Yup." You nod. Whisper floats down beside him. "Whats everyone talking about?" He asks. You and Nate jump, screaming a bit. "Whisper? What are you doing here?" Nate questions.

"Well, I wouldn't be a very good yokai butler if I didn't keep a close eye on you two!" He flies around. You and Nate had already started walking down the steps. "Huh?" He looks around, noticing you two going down the steps. "Oh why do I bother...?" Whisper says in an exasperated tone.

As you and Nate reach the bottom, Whisper follows. "You were saying something about unusual disturbances?" He asks. You point to the water. "Yeah, people are talking about some weird duck dude with a green body. Oh, and he has a dish on his head!" You explain.

"That sounds like a Kappa! Kappa's are harmless creatures. Usually found in their natural habitats near lakes, rivers, or streams. Kappa's are very well known yokai." He says. You make a small 'hm' sound. Whisper continues. "Oh, but as you know that is commen knowledge." He states. You and Nate look at each other, and then back at him. "Then why do you have to read it then?" You and Nate say in sync. Whisper gasps, hiding his tablet behind his back. He fails his arms up in the air.

"I have no idea what your talking about!" He shouts. "Now Nate, Y/n, use your yokai watch to scan the river!" He says, pointing to our watches. His body twists into a star. "Sparkle sparkle shining bright! Bath this river in your blazing light!" He sings. His face darkens as he turns to us. "Are you ready for a new encounter of the yokai kind?" He asks. You and Nate turn towards the river, using your yokai watches. You both scan the river as something pops up.

"Aha! There he is! There's the Kappa!" Whisper says. "Sweet!" You say, admiring the Kappa. "Woah!" Nate gasps.

"Now pay attention you guys." Whisper starts. "Notice how his plate is nice and moist at the moment. If his plate dries out, it's big trouble for a Kappa. Trust me, you don't want to see that happen!" He explains. "What kind of trouble?" Nate asks, turning to Whisper. You just stare at the Kappa, fascinated. "Hm. Let me see." Whisper grabs his yokai tablet. "Oh come on man!" Nate whines.

"They lose their power." He states matter-of-factly. "So what?" Nate says. "Let's get a closer look." Whisper floats towards the kappa.. unbeknownst to you guys, a blue duck like creature stood right behind you all.

"Wha?"

WALKAPPA

"Okay now, look at this right here. Notice how the plate is cracked on one side? That indicates this Kappa is quite old!" You and Nate nod. "Interesting." Nate says, one of his hands on his hip. As you were all staring at the Kappa, you had no idea there was an actual Kappa right behind you, trying to get your attention.

"Interesting indeed." Whisper agrees. "You can get so much information just by looking at their plates alone." You yawn. "You guys are lucky to have a knowledgeable and experienced butler, wouldn't you say?" Whisper asks. "Not really." You shrug. He gives you a side glance. A man in a white shirt, pants and a hat hops off his bike and begins jogging to the opposite side of you all as you watch.

He stops infront of the Walkappa and picks it up. "Still in good condition. This is some high grade quality dinner ware." He states. Your mouth opens slightly.

'Are you telling me that wasn't a Walkappa at all?!'
