Cora's POV
The posters were done and our group decided to go get lunch at Zinburger, they had the best burgers and shakes. The entire way there Emilio was giving me a piggyback ride and we were all laughing and having a good time, but i couldn't help but notice the forced smile Em had plastered on her face.
I wonder if she's still thinking about what happened with Seth. That's Emily's ex boyfriend he hurt her really bad I remember her crying her eyes out the night she caught him having sex with the school slut.
She couldn't take the pain they were only dating for three months, but Emily has had her eyes on him since middle school. Then on the first day of school freshman year he walked right up to her ,with a giant smirk on his face, and asked her out. What she didn't know was back in middle school he was a player and everyone knew except her.
They looked great together and Emily was always so faithful to him. She was so Naive back then, she thought that him flirting with other girls was him trying to make her jealous. She thought that was his way of telling her she needed to step it up as a girlfriend. So Emily being the stupid girl she was always tried to make him love her more. In reality he just wanted to get in her pants, however Emily was NOT anywhere near ready for that step. So he cheated on her not even two days into their relationship.
However he was sly and hid it from her only the people he had affairs with knew what he was doing and none of them said a word. She never even knew until the day she walked into his house. I was snapped out of my thoughts by Emily. "Hey Cora you okay you've been spacing out for the last 5 minutes."
"What...yah sorry just thinking."
"About....." Emily said her curiosity clear. "freshman year" I said quietly. Emily froze. "what brought that on."
"Idk I was thinking of how great it would have been if Emilio had asked me out then." I said easily speaking my lie. "Hey ! I was afraid you would reject me." Emilio said
"Whatever you big oaf you know I love you ." I said as I leaned in for a kiss.
"Ewwwwwwww" everyone said.
"Could you not do that when there's single people around please it's gross." Emily said.
"Maybe if he wasn't so adorable." I said sweetly. "eww get a room." Emilio was blushing a deep red. "Well at least I got a cute boyfriend!" I said trying to play it cool but only becoming a deeper shade of red. Emilio looked like a Christmas tree light the way he was so red.
"Guys stop we're here can we just eat some food hopefully there not out of pizza." Our extremely hungry friend Taylor said. "um Taylor you do know this is a burger place right"? Emily questioned. "Yah but sometimes they have pizza here." She retorted back. we all looked at Taylor and started laughing so hard that the people around us started giving us weird looks but we didn't care we were just having a good time and finally adding to our book of memories.
