Hey everyone! I finally updated again! :D
Before we start with this chapter, I wanted to give a shout-out to EmberLife_11!

Now that gotten through that very important announcement, let's get on with the story!
The walk to school was better than I'd expected.
The only scream I'd heard was from that young boy playing on the sidewalk. Besides that, I'd been able to walk in silence. I soaked it all in, knowing that everything would be worse on the way back.
As I walked down the school halls, every student formed a huge bubble around me. I didn't even bother to smile at any of them, It would do nothing but make me feel even worse. I sighed as I felt a crumpled piece of paper hit my shoulder--followed by several more.
"Would you cut that out?!" I asked the group of teenage boys who'd thrown the paper.
"What are you going to do about it?" one of them spat back. "Nearly burn down the school like you did last year?"
Sometimes I really wished that I could burn those jerks.
I gave the boys one last glare before walking into my classroom. It was empty...which was a little strange.
Well, maybe not that strange. Ever since my fire ability started up, the teachers found it too dangerous for me to take classes with the other kids. So now my class is basically like a private tutor session. Just me and whoever was teaching.
But that's the thing, there was literally no one in the classroom. Normally I'd find my tenth grade teacher, Ms. Jenkins, waiting for me at her desk. I looked around the room in confusion. It wasn't like Ms. Jenkins to be late.
I shrugged and took a seat at my own desk, which was in the front of the room. All of my other teachers from previous grades made me sit in the back. But not Ms. Jenkins. That was one of the things I liked about her, she was hardly scared of my fire. And she always tried her best to treat me like a normal student.
After several minutes of waiting, the door finally creaked open. Ms. Jenkins smiled at me as she came in.
"Hi Lia. I'm sorry about being late. I just came from speaking with the principal."
"The Principal?" I asked nervously. Most of the time Ms. Jenkins spoke with the principal, the topic was about me.
"It's nothing to worry about. I've got everything handled now." Ms. Jenkins insisted. "Are you ready to start class? We have math first."
I nodded and she instantly started to write math equations on the chalkboard behind her. I still had an unsettling feeling about the principal thing. But I pushed those worries away as I half-heartedly listened to the lesson being taught.
>>>>> Time skip: 4 hours (many classes later) <<<<<
I had just finished taking notes about the history of the United States when the lunch bell rang. Soon after Ms. Jenkins dismissed me, I grabbed my backpack and took a moment to mentally prepare myself before heading to the cafeteria.
