Roommate Wanted

Chapter 1

Hazel

I jump into my desk after waking up from a nap to check my laptop for any notifications or updates from the Roomies website.
Long story short, Danica, my best friend and previous roommate, moved out of our apartment to move in with her fiancé  I've been looking for someone to move into the spare room because I can't afford this flat by mysel  after she moved out.

So i've been looking online in search of a new roommate this past month so far no luck, all requests were from gross creepy older men and bots. Its literally been hell trying to find a new roommate ugh.

I hear a banging  knock on a door.
"Shit who the hell is that?" i said
i opened up the door and i see Danica and Lucas.
"Did you not hear us knock like 20 times?" Danica asked.

"No i was busy and i didn't know you guys were coming" i reply back to her.

"We texted you on the groupchat tho" Lucas said as they walk in and sat on the couch.
"My bad i turned my phone off" i apologized.

"Is there a reason why y'all came over today?" i asked curiously.
"Yeah we came to help you find a roommate" Danica responded.

"Oh thanks dani but i really don't need any h-"
"You need it haze, trust me" she cuts me off.
She scrolls through the profiles of the people requests.

"Oh look, Hazel, this 24-year-old guy is a good cook and can keep the flat tidy. He's literally perfect for a roommate"  Danica said

I walk over to danica and looked at the screen
"Dani that's literally the basic needs for a roommate, is there anything else?" i said

"Well it says he works as a bartender and does small singing gigs with his band" Danica replied

"I guess he'll do, he's also kinda hot now that i think about it"  I said.

" Don't get too excited hazel, what he's a catfish you never know" Lucas said with a concern look.

" Whatever lucas" i responded back to him annoyingly.

Danica clicked the accept request  button and then we waited until he got back online again.
2 hours passes by and i checked my computer to see if he was online, fortunately he was and we started chatting for awhile.

After we finished chatting, both Caden and I went offline. I actually hope he's not a catfish, rent is due next in 2 weeks.

Usually I would be able to afford rent by myself but I haven't been getting any offers lately and the rent has skyrocketed due to inflation. So hopefully caden doesn't turn out to be a catfish and can move in by the end of next Monday.

Lucas and Danica are staying for dinner so I whipped some chicken fried rice and we had some chardonnay to drink. 

"You should definitely quit modeling and become a professional chef cause every time you cook for us it's always so fire". Lucas said with his mouth full.

"I agree the food is bomb!" Danica said as she's smiling at me .

"Thanks guys i appreciate you both" i replied back smiling.

After a few minutes later we all finished our plates and put the dishes in the sink.
And we all walked back to the couch and watched some episode of Law and Order SVU.

A Couple hours later..

Both Danica and Lucas got up
and as they were walking to the front door danica said  " Lucas and I are heading home, it's getting late".

"Oh okay, have a safe drive home" i responded to danica with a smile and as they head out the door.

I closed and locked the door and then I proceeded to walk into the kitchen and wash the dishes.

As soon as I was done washing the dishes I closed all the lights and went straight to the bathroom to take a shower.

After about 15 or 20 minutes I stepped out of the shower, grabbed a towel and then I started to head back to my room .

*I spent most of my time getting ready by thinking about tomorrow's meeting with Caden .  I felt so nervous about it. *

I put on my matching black lace pajama set and closed my bedroom light. Maybe if I just went to bed I could stop worrying about it, I wondered as I slowly closed my eyes.

mine would probably be transportation because i would be able to visit my favorite places.
