Chapter 2

Hazel

As usual I woke up around 7:30am to go on my morning run around central park which is only about a 5 minute walk from my place.
Once I ran my first lap ( which took me about an hour to finish) I heard my phone vibrate, I checked to see who was texting me and it was caden.
Caden: Hey, can we reschedule our meeting to 12pm, I know a good place for brunch plus I have a meeting at 2pm I forgot.
Me: Yeah of course no problem.
Now I have to go home and get ready to meet caden. I kind of wish I got to finish my run though.

So I left the park and ran home to at least finish some bit from my run. I quickly took a shower, I used my cinnamon scented body wash since it's fall and I love the smell of cinnamon.

I then got out of the shower and I dried off. I put on a cozy white sweater with leggings and a black skirt and to top it off I wore a black leather jacket plus some leggings.

I decided to let my curls out and do a half up half down hairstyle with it.
I then put on my docs and quickly headed out the door.

I got into the elevator and as I stood patiently to reach the main lobby the elevator stopped on the 3rd floor. I heard the doors open and saw a handsome older guy. He looked about late thirties or early forties, and no ring on his finger.
I guessed he noticed me staring at him because he looked and smiled at me.

"Like what you see darling" he said smirking .
"Sorry didn't mean to stare" I responded.
He chuckles "It's alright darling, i'm Ryder Danes i just moved in today"
"Hazel brown, i'm on the 5th floor" I said awkwardly.
He nods. "Well it's nice to meet you Hazel, hopefully we'll see each other again".
The elevator door opens up to the basement floor where the garage is.

We both stepped out and walked to our cars.

As i'm driving, Caden calls me.
Caden: Hey Hazel i'm already there, let me know when you've reached the place.

Me: Sure thing! What's the address again? you forgot to send it to me,
Caden : it's Utopia Bistro on 23 Willow Avenue.
Me: Thanks Caden.
I then ended the call.
I put the address into my gps and it was only 10 minutes from where i was.
12 minutes later.

Once I parked my car, I started heading inside the cafe. I took a quick scan until I heard a voice calling my name.

It was Caden. I didn't know what I was expecting but all I know is that his profile pic doesn't do him justice.

He's way more attractive in person.
I then go up to him and we shake hands. Gosh he's so good-looking.

"So what do you want to know, i'm a open book" he said
"what do you do when you're not working?"

"I sing with my friends," he answered back.
"oh okay yeah i got that from your profile"

" do you have rules i should worry about hazel?" he asked

" Yeah, we need to set boundaries like we can't hookup or do anything like that, lets just be friends"

"That's okay with me" he said

" Okay sounds good, you can move in as early as this weekend" I said as I handed over the extra keys.
"Sounds good to me" he replied.

We both got up and said our goodbyes as we went our separate ways.

I reached my apartment complex and as i walking to the elevator the doors were about to closed

"Wait hold it" i shouted
Luckily someone heard me and held the door for me.
I looked to see who it was and no other than ryder from before.

"Thank you ryder" I applauded
"Your welcome angel" he said, smiling at me.
"5th floor right angel?" he asked
"Yes thank you again"

He pressed my floor number and then the elevator started going up.
As we approached his floor, he asked me a question.

"So Hazel are you busy Saturday night?" he said awkwardly
"Yeah I am free Saturday," I responded with a grin.

"Good, then it's a date." he said smiling
"Pick me up at 7." i said
he nodded.

The elevator stops at his floor and he walks out as he is waving goodbye to me.

3 minutes later I'm on my floor, I get off the elevator and start walking to my apartment.

I got into my apartment and flopped onto my couch and I started watching my all time favorite Gilmore Girls.

A few hours later I got a little bored and a bit hungry so I ordered some Wendy's since I didn't feel like cooking today.
I then chilled on my phone scrolling through messages and I saw that Danica texted me.

Dani❤️‍🩹 : haze omg how did the meeting with caden go??
Me: hey dani it went well he's not a catfish at all. he's just as gorgeous as he looks in his profile pic.
Dani❤️‍🩹: YESSS! glad you finally found someone to move in with though.
Me: ALSO there's this super cute new guy who lives just a few floors down!
Dani❤️‍🩹: omg what?? Since when?
Me: today!! he also asked me out on a date literally the day after caden moves in.
Dani❤️‍🩹: this is so exciting!
I get a notification that my food has arrived.
Me: right! i have to go eat my dinner but i will talk to you soon, love ya
Dani❤️‍🩹 : love ya!

Yes! I quietly shouted.
They got my order right this time. My order was a classic baconator combo with coke.
After 15 minutes of eating and finishing 6 more episodes of Gilmore girls i was so full.

Then I started drifting off into a food coma.
