Chapter 3

Caden.

Same day

I drove to the airbnb i was staying at with my band. We are all planning to stay in new york, after we finish our last show here.

I walked in saw my step-brother Alex just lying down on the couch watching his favorite American show Brooklyn-99 , while my other bandmate Sailor is cooking.

"Where's Kai and Zhane ?" i asked
"Well Kai is sleeping and zhane is calling his family' sailor responded

Sailor is my childhood best friend he's always been there for me, when my mom passed away he bought me a pendant necklace with her favorite gemstone : topaz which also had her initials: KMS , Kim-Mae Sung.

My mother was everything to me, she always supported me in my work to pursue music unlike my father who was constantly putting me down for not becoming a lawyer like him and taking over the law firm he built 'Choi and associates' . I was a privileged kid who got put in private schools all his life until i decided to drop-out and do music full-time.

One day my mom started to get sick and she was then diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. Which was such horrible news for a 16 year old kid to hear. My guidance counselor at school was the one to break the news to me.
He called me into his office and told me that he had news to tell me, by the look on his face i could tell it wasn't going to be good. So once i sat down on of the chairs he tells me "Caden i'm so sorry to tell you but your dad called the school and he told us that your mother had sadly passed away"
And i just sat there speechless i couldn't believe i lost the one parent who actually cared about me. She was my like my rock. Having to learn life without her is a lesson i've never wanted to learn but here i am.
I then thanked the counselor and walked out of his office.
He also let me know that my father will be picking me up in 5 minutes.

Present

I told my whole group l that i found a apartment, but that i'll also be living with a girl.
" Caden you won't be able to last day living with a girl" said alex
"Trust me i know what im doing i met up with her earlier, we've already set up some rules" i responded back
"What's happening?" zhane said as he is walking into the kitchen from his room.
"caden is moving in with a girl" alex tells zhane
"Wait really, so you're just going to leave us"
"Relax zhane i'm still going to come and chill with you guys i'm just going to be living somewhere else" i said.
"Guys i made food!" Sailor shouts
"We're literally right here no need to shout sailor" zhane says.
"It's just steamed rice with veggies and teriyaki chicken" sailor announced.
" Thank you bro i was starving"
"No problem caden"
I get a my plate and filled it with food and then sat down in th living room.
"So i met up with my new roommate today" i told the guys
"Is she cute" alex asked with a smirk on his face.
"I mean yeah i guess"
"She turned you down didn't she?"
"No not really she just wanted me to follow a stupid rule she made"
"Which is?"
"No sleeping with each other or something like that"
"Pretty decent rule if you ask me" alex said
"shut up alex" i responded
3hrs later...
I just finished packing the last bit of my stuff, now all i need to do is wait till tomorrow so the morning guys can pick up my boxes.
Me and Sailor are going out to target to pick out some things for the apartment.
And as i opened the house door i see some chick with a strapless leather dress.
"Is Kai here?" she asked
"yep he's in his room i can go get him for you"
"thanks"
"what's your name so i could tell him that you're here"
"It's alissa sheridan, he should remember me"
" okay cool i'll come back, you can sit down on the couch if you'd like"
I walked down the hallway and went into kai's room.
"hey kai some chick named alissa sheridan is here for you

"oh shit she's already"
"who is she?" zhane asked
"this girl i met at our show"
"damn so what about celia, aren't y'all still together?"
"nah we broke up right before our show i told y'all this already"
"that's tough" i said
"yeah whatever lol" he responded
"me and sailor are heading out we'll be back"
"alright see ya"
I quickly ran to the car and i see that sailor was already inside.
We drove for about 15 minutes straight with some music obviously, we listened to chase atlantic one of our favorite bands.
Once we got inside the store we immediately went into the electronic section and picked up a tv for my room, we then pick up a few new games for my ps5, some plants, snacks and a karaoke machine cause why not, and 3 board games.
Then we payed and headed out the door. Once we got home I go into my room and flopped onto my bed.
"Um caden are you okay?" Sailor asked
"Yeah why wouldn't i be?"
"No reason but why did you just flopped onto the bed like that"
"I don't know it's been a long day and i'm pretty tired"
"Ah i see make sense, i'll let you get your rest in"
"Thanks Sailor"
"No problem"
He walks out and i take my phone out and texted hazel just to check up on her.
"Hey Hazel"
"hey caden, what's up"
"Nothing too special just checking if you got home safe after we met up earlier, i forgot to text you beforehand"
" thank you i got home safe and sound"
"That's good to hear, let me know if there's anything you need"
"okay i will same goes for you, see you saturday when you move in!"

I closed my phone and i start getting ready for bed.
I took off my shirt and put on some pjama pants i also go into the washroom to brush my teeth. After what feels like a good 3 minutes i go back to the room close the curtains and i set my alarm then i crawl into bed.
