The march continued relentlessly. Soon the forest would be behind them, and the Meadow of Luminescent Flowers would appear on the horizon. Surly did not seem very happy to have to travel such a long distance, and even less so to have to do so at the pace of the caravan carrying Darent, Lorent's son.
Fleas, for his part, rode in the wagon next to the coachman. Surly did not think much of him, nor of the horses. Dannke guided Surly beside him.
"Is it ready?"
"Yes, look," he showed him the drawing with a big smile.
"Better than the last one, no doubt. Are you nervous to visit the capital of the empire?"
"No, I'm excited. It's going to be very big, isn't it? And very beautiful, I am sure."
"That's right. It will be nice to have some peace for a change," said Dannke naively.
And they marched on, without mishap, without haste.
