When Adam opened the door, he saw Tommy. Tommy was propped up in bed with a bunch of machines connected to him from his torso to his forearms. One of the machines was the heart monitor. Adam took a glance at the monitor, which said that Tommy's heart was beating 77 times per minute, which was pretty good for just being shot in the heart.
Adam slowly inhaled as he walked in the room and shut the door behind him, but didn't lock it. He wanted some privacy with Tommy, but he also didn't want the door to be locked in case of an emergency. Adam walked over to the chair that was placed by Tommy's bedside, but he didn't take his eyes off Tommy for half a second. Adam slowly sat down in the chair and stared at Tommy silently for a few minutes.
Finally, Adam's hand slowly reached out and touched Tommy's limp hand. Slowly, Adam placed Tommy's limp left hand in his and then covered it with his right hand. He sat there, holding Tommy's hand while staring at him, still concerned. Finally, Adam spoke.
"Tommy....please.....I don't know if you can hear me...but....if you can....please just be okay." Adam whispered in a slightly pleading voice.
A few hours later...
A soft groan escaped Tommy's lips. His finger twitched slightly as he let out a few more soft groans before opening his eyes slightly. He blinked and then fully opened them again. Tommy took a big inhale and let out another groan. As Tommy started to wake up more, he became more aware of his surroundings. Eventually he felt something touching his left hand. Tommy slowly turned his head to the lift and looked down at his hand to see the only person he wanted to see right now. Adam was asleep holding his hand. Tommy smiled slightly. Tommy took his right hand and gently stroked Adam's hair. Tommy looked at Adam with a lot of admiration in his eyes.
After a few minutes, Adam groaned and shifted his head a few times before slowly resting his chin on the edge of the hospital bed. Adam looked up and his eyes widen as he saw Tommy looking down at him with a smile on his face.
"Hey, naughty puppy."
