1 YEAR LATER
Every relationship has ups and downs. I could not be happier to go through that rollercoaster than with my husband Arfan. He was always there for me and I was always there for him.
It had been a year since I had a restraining order against his brother. He attempted to see me once and was put into police custody. Ever since then he has been out of our lives.
Layla had just came to visit me. Her bright and bubbly personality had never connected with me more. We were like two peas in a pod.
I was lying on the sofa waiting for Arfan to get back from work. Dinner was made but I wanted to wait for him so we could eat together.
The door opened and my husband walked through with a bouquet of red roses in one hand and his briefcase in the other which he dropped as soon as I ran up to him. He hugged me close to him and handed me the beautiful flowers. "I've waited all day to see that smile on your face, my love."
I blushed, "you say that to me everyday. Do you not get tired of it."
"How could I when I get to see your nose turn pink every day after I say it?" He smirked and bent down on his knees to give my baby bump a kiss. "How are my babies doing today?"
"I can tell you for sure that your son is going to be a football player. He's been kicking my bladder all day! I'm going crazy having to pee every too seconds." He helped me waddle back to the sofa where we sat together, my legs resting over his lap.
"And how's my baby girl Faurah doing?" He held me hand, rubbing the back of it with his thumb.
"She doesn't stop moving. Especially now that her dad is home." I pulled his hand onto my bump where he felt both his babies move and kick.
We laughed together as every time he felt movement his eyes widened with excitement and surprise. Not too long after he pulled me closer to him so he could look me directly into my eyes. "You're the best thing that has ever happened to me, Faurah. You're my whole world and now you're giving me children. What more could I want?" The love in his eyes for me melted my heart. Tears streamed down my cheeks and sobs escaped my lips. "My love, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, you're just too... nice." I cried even more. "I can't even say anything sweet back. I'm such a mess." Hormones had played with my mind so much so that Arfan had to comfort me every two minutes but he didn't mind that. I could tell he loved it. He whispered soothing words into my ear and calmed me down. "I love you so much. I can't even begin to explain, Arfan.
"You don't need to, Faurah. I know. I love you with all my heart, my flower."
