Uzi crossed through the ruins of the city, through the blizzard of snow, and over the iced up rivers until she found the oil refinery.
She had planned this for months, commencing operation 'Kill The Murder Drone' today. Afterwards, she'd gain the respect and applause she craved. All she had to do was bring back one murder drone head.
Hopefully, it wasn't easier said than done… but most likely it was.
Just a yard away from the oil refinery, where the disassembly drone was rumored to reside, Uzi took a deep breath, before walking forward. She grabbed her railgun from her back, ready to fire at a moment's notice.
As she walked between the tanks of oil, she kept her guard up, weapon ready to fire. If first person shooters taught her one thing, it was always have your weapon ready while on a mission.
She turned her head upwards, taking her eyes off the ground, only to end up tripping on her face, causing her to drop her weapon. Moaning, she rolled onto her back and sat up, looking at what caused her to trip, only to have a huge scream come out of her mouth.
It was the corpse of a worker drone, most likely one that tried to kill the disassembly drone. There was a huge hole through his visor.
Uzi started panting as panic ran through her body. She thought she knew what she was getting herself into, but overestimated how prepared she was to face it. She arose to her feet, picked the railgun, and turned to run away from the corpse, more into the oil refinery.
She stopped upon seeing something much, much worse.
A mountain of corpses. At least five or six dozen worker drones. Some were still whole, most had missing body parts. Oil covered the mountain of corpses, drying up on the ground.
Uzi started gasping heavily for breath as she backed into an oil tank, sliding down against it until she was sitting down. She brought her knees to her chest, put her hands on both sides of her head, tears forming in her visor, light sobs escaping her mouth.
She brought herself here. Why didn't she listen to her dad and classmates? Now she was in the danger zone of Copper-9.
Would she meet the same fate as the other worker drones and be nothing more than another part of the pile.
Thousands of thoughts ran through Uzi's mind, before she heard a noise, causing the oil in her body to freeze. She turned her head to see something that was scarier than all her nightmares combined.
Hanging upside down from the shade of the connection pipes, was a tall drone. Hanging from its tail, arms crossed, a pair of yellow eyes piercing into the darkness.
Uzi saw her whole life flash before her visor. The disassembly drone landed on the ground standing up, gazing upon Uzi.
She could see he was wearing a grey coat with a pilot hat.
Uzi stood up, visibly shaking. She thought she could handle this, but she thought wrong. Now that she was at her moment to fight with the notorious murder drone… she was afraid.
"Pl-please ju-just go back into rest mode."
The disassembly drone started walking towards her. Fear filled her body. The murder drone was about to say something, which caused Uzi to feel numb, before she remembered her railgun.
"Are you alri-IGT!?!" She interrupted the disassembly drone by shooting him in the chest with her railgun. There was a huge hole piercing through.
Uzi started panting and light chuckling, before the disassembly drone's chest regenerated, causing Uzi to practically choke on her last chuckle.
