6. Great losses...

yibo learn that ziyi has mysteriously gone missing but then she might not be the only one...

after a day's work, yibo has just come to check for ziyi, only to hear that she has gone missing!

"what do you mean by ziyi has gone missing??" asked yibo.

"i cannot find her anywhere. she has just disappeared." said qin.

yibo cannot believe what he's hearing. ziyi has gone missing!

'no, this cannot be happening.' thinks yibo.

"tell me, this is  just a big joke!" said yibo.

he look at qin's unusually glum face.

'oh no...' thinks yibo.

he settle down on ziyi's bed, distraught at the grim news.

'how could she have gone missing just like that! she was just recovering! she is still unwell to have gone running off!' thinks yibo.

qin sits next to him and touches him by his shoulder.

"i'm sorry..." said qin.

yibo stand up in a flurry.

"no, no, no! she cannot just disappear like that!" said yibo.

he look to qin, furious.

"i will go and look for her and yes, i will find her." said yibo.

he leave the room in a rush of anger, leaving a distressed qin behind.

he's been searching for ziyi now for the past few hours but he still haven't found her.

'where could she be? where could she have gone to?!' thinks yibo.

he enter the hall, which is teeming with the activities of the servants. he quickly spot the children among the bustling servants.

"lu! yuan!" said yibo.

he hail them as he hastily approach them.

"Mr. yibo!" said lu.

the twins regard yibo with a little curiosity at his eager pace. he come to stop near them, a little breathless.

"did any of you happen to see a new maid around?" asked yibo.

they both shake their heads in refutation.

"okay. well, i'll be going on my way. we'll chat later." said yibo.

he  leave them wondering after him.

'what will i do now?? perhaps, i should ask zhan for help. he always knows what to do.' thinks yibo.

he reach zhan's cottage and knock on the door. there is no answer.

"zhan? zhan, open up for me! it's yibo!" said yibo.

'where could he have gone to?' thinks yibo.

a disturbing thought suddenly enters his mind.

'what if he has gone missing too like ziyi?!' thinks yibo.

he shake his head to quiet to dispel his bad thoughts.

"i must be overthinking things." said yibo.

he knock again.

"zhan? zhan?" yelled yibo.

'why isn't he answering the door?? or has he really gone missing too?!' thinks yibo.

he sigh frustratedly as he knock again. still no response.

he enter into the cottage and search the rooms. he don't find zhan anywhere.
