The Walking Dead ———— 01x04
Vivian Ford ——— September 2010

LATER IN THE AFTERNOON, Shane took Carl out to catch some frogs to lift his spirits after Rick left for the city. Thomas followed after the two excitedly with his yellow bucket. Vivian watching over her brother with the book she'd stolen from Dale. Unfortunately the three hadn't caught anything apart from some pebbles, but somebody else did happen to catch something that day—a beating.

Shane had beaten Ed Peletier practically to a pulp in front of basically the entire camp after the man started to stir things up where the woman were doing laundry. He was being his usual vile self, and this time the woman decided to stand up for Carol and Sophia instead of watching them suffer in silence. Ed got defensive quickly, resulting in Shane tackling him to the gravel and giving the man the beating of his life.

Nobody said anything after that, watching as Ed was hauled off to his tent by Jim. It appeared as though everyone decided that what Shane did was deserved on Ed's part, and that it wouldn't be spoken of. Camp calmed down soon after, well, as calm as life could get these days considering the dead now walked among the living.

It had been about four hours since the four men left for the city to retrieve Merle from the roof, and still no sign of them from over the radio. Vivian curiously made her way towards the RV where Dale stood keeping watch over camp, pulling herself up the latter onto the top of the RV.

"How's Operation URM going?" She asked the older man as she sat down on the edge of the vehicle, dangling her legs over the edge.

"Operation URM?" Dale parroted, his eyebrows creased with confusion.

"Operation Unnecessary Rescue Mission." Vivian specified as she glanced out across the quarry towards the city, exhaling deeply at the thought of all the danger out there. "Seemed fitting, doesn't it?"

A smile tugged at Dale's lips as she shook his head, clearing his throat to hide the laughter that was bubbling in his chest. "Maybe don't call it that when the Dixon brothers get back." He advised. "Probably won't be too happy with that phrasing."

"So you think they'll find Merle?" Vivian asked, watching as Dale sat on his lawn chair with a heavy sigh, rubbing his finger against his temple. "I think it's good to have hope." He told the red haired girl across from him, watching as Vivian scrunched her nose up before turning back to the quarry.

Her eyes landed on where Andrea and Amy were pulling back up to shore with Dale's canoe, pupils widening at the sight of a chain full of fish. Vivian silently thanked whatever god was listening at that moment—none of them would be a victim to eating beans that night.

Vivian quickly pulled herself up to her feet, ignoring Dale questioning her with concern as she basically flew down the latter. She ran across camp, grinning when Amy and Andrea approached with the fish and gear from their trip.

"Have I ever told you guys that I love you?" Vivian asked the two woman as they brought dinner back to camp, receiving dozens of happy smiles. "Because I do."

Amy laughed at the younger girl while Morales laughed with excitement while reaching out to grab the fish from both sisters. "Ladies...because of you my children will eat tonight. Thank you." He told the two woman while Lori clapped her hands together at the sight of the fish, there was at least a dozen.
