Chapter 5: A Bat's Target

Y/N's PoV

Y/N: "Ellith? Hotaru, do you know her?" I asked the Tengu infront of me, alternating my gaze between her and the vampire on the other side of the room.

Hotaru: "..." But the most i got was a cold glare that didn't stare at me, but at someone else.

Ellith: "Hotaru? Hmm...the name doesn't seem too familiar, but oh well! Stay aside and i'll let you live, i only want him." Spoke the vampire carelessly taking a few steps forward to not wait for any answer.

Hotaru: "Do not get anywhere near him!" Hotaru didn't wait a moment to charge at Ellith, hitting her with a straight on kick on her chest that only did so much as pushing her back.

Ellith: "...so you have a death wish?" She stood straight again cleaning the dust off her clothes, tilting her head with a creepy smile that i could see even in the darkness.

Y/N: "Even i can tell the massive power emanating from her...and i'm no ninja."

Hotaru: "Go with Yasu immediately, i'll deal with her before things get bad." A gust of wind passed through the room, the window was closed shut so the only explanation was that Hotaru summoned it in a way to intimidate or increase her movement.

Ellith: "Ah but i have no motive to let him leave, you see." Waiting no second, Ellith launched herself past Hotaru nearly instantly appearing infront of me ready to strike.

Hotaru: "I don't think so!" But Hotaru was faster, turning around in time to kick Ellith towards a wall of the room with ease thanks to the wind boosting her speed.

Seeing the opening, i got up quickly and opened the door, leaving the room as the Tengu stayed to get me enough time to escape. Fortunately the noise drew some attention from one of the others in the house, Yasu was already coming to my room with her sword in hand having heard the ruckus going on.

Yasu: "Master!" She shouted in relief through her neutral tone, stopping infront of me to look at my room's doorframe with caution.

Y/N: "Yasu, where's Shiza!?"

Yasu: "She has the heaviest sleep i have seen, what's going on?" Asked with confusion the ninja keeping her gaze locked on the spot.

Y/N: "There's a vampire! Hotaru stayed to fight against her so i could run away!" I briefly explained the situation to Yasu, now standing besides her to be a bit farther from my room.

Yasu: "A vampire...in the city? Why is she here, they don't usually-."

Her speech was interrupted by a last thud coming from the room, followed by the sound of Hotaru's grunting as she was kicked off from the room with her fan landing infront of her seemingly without energy to continue fighting despite still being on her foot. Ellith came out of the room humming a gentle song, her red eyes shining in the darkness of the night giving a horror movie's feel to the whole situation.

Hotaru: "S-she's way too fast and strong alike! That's not balanced at all!"

Yasu: "You and Hotaru leave, i'll entertain her as much as i can!" Yasu didn't await a response, lunging forward with her sword to swing it downwards against Ellith only for it to be stopped by the vampire's hand directly grabbing the sword. "What..!?"

Ellith: "We'll see how much you last~."

In the meantime, i ran to Hotaru helping her back on her feet and placing one hand over her waist to help her up, she picked up her fan before we left as fast as we could going downstairs away from the new fighting zone.
