Marauders and Lilah (one-shots)

The prank (I)

"He's staring again." Sirius said for the million time.
"Let him stare Sirius. Just ignore him." Delilah said, also for the million time.
"I just know he's wondering why Moony isn't here."
"He's sick. And that's all we have to tell him. If he does ask something. Now stop staring and eat, come on." Delilah said as she placed her hand on Sirius cheek and made him look at his plate.
"It's annoying."
"Sirius. I mean it."
"Fine." Sirius said as he finally gave up on trying to convince his friends that that wasn't normal.

It's been going on for a few months, Sirius recalls. Severus had noticed that once a month, the five friends would go missing at night, showing up only on the morning after, sometimes with cuts and bandages. Usually the rougher one was Remus Lupin, but Severus never understood why. And he decided that finally, it was time. So, sometimes, he'd follow the Marauders friends. Most times they'd just ignore him, or say something to make him go away, but recently it has been becoming hard on Sirius to just. Ignore. It came to the point where they could barely walk on the Hogwarts gardens without being followed.

"I'm gonna pack chocolate for him." James said.
"He's gonna get diabetes one day for the amount of chocolate he has. But I was thinking the same." Delilah said with a soft smile "But maybe we could take something more dinnerish for him to have." Delilah said as she wrapped some chicken and bread on a napkin.
"Let's go?" James asked and his friends nodded and so, together, they went to the Gryffindor common room.

"Stay with me tonight?" Sirius asked, wrapping his arm around Delilah's waist.
"Are you gonna complain about how Snivellus has been following us and that you're so done with it?" She asked with a grin.
"Maybe.."
"Then no thank you."
"And if I don't?" He said, getting closer to her.
"Then I might. Just let me go change yea?" She said as she handed the bread to him "take that to Rem."
"Be quick!" Sirius said, climbing up the stairs to his dorm.
"Oh sush it Black." She said as she went to her own dorm as well. Once there, she grabbed her pyjamas and got changed. Then she threw in her slippers and walked to the door.
"Again? Seriously Greene?"
"Jealous McKinnon?" Delilah asked with a grin.
"Very much. It's the-"
"Second night. This week". Alice Fortescue voice was heard this time.
"It's like we don't even know your sleeping face anymore." Emmeliene said and Delilah laugh.
"Promise tomorrow I'm sleeping with you, how about that Em?"
"Oh no you won't, you'll stay with me." Marlene said grinning.
"Yea yea. Night girls." Delilah said as she left the dorm and walked to the boys one, making sure no one was seeing her. Once she got there, she opened the door and walked inside.
"How is he?" She asked Sirius, talking about Remus.
"Sleeping." He whispered.
"Good. And so should we. I'm exhausted."
"Come on then." Sirius said laying in his bed, letting the covers opened for Delilah, who proceeded to lay beside him, resting her head on his chest.
"Night Padfoot." She said as she pressed a soft kiss on his lips.
"Night Claws." He said returning the kiss and, soon enough, both of them were fast asleep and, in the morning, Delilah woke up just like she had fallen asleep. On Sirius embrace.

"Morning." He said softly, playing with her hair.
"Morning." She said looking up at him with a soft smile.
"Let's skip class." He said pulling her closer.
"Oh that does sound very temptating, but we should let Remus rest. But I won't say no to five minutes of cuddles." She said with a sleepy grin.
"Make it ten and I'm yours." Sirius said, pressing a soft kiss on her forehead.
"Then ten it is." She said, wrapping her arms around him.
"You look extremely sexy when you're tired, you know that?" He whispered softly into her ear.
"hmhm.."
"How did you sleep?"
"Fine. How did you sleep?" She said, turning to look at him.
"Fine as well. Had the luck to wake up before you so I managed to watch you sleep for a little while." Sirius said as he pressed his lips once more on her forehead to which she returned a soft smile.
"Where are the others?"
"Left already."
"You could have woken me up and we would all go together." Delilah said looking at her watch, to check the time.
"It's fine doll. Plus, we do need the rest."
"Yea..maybe we should let him sleep today. Not go to classes."
"Yea. Maybe it's for the best, it's really kicking into him this time." Sirius said looking over at his friend, that was sleeping on the bed opposite to where they were laying.
"Probably because it was exams week. You know how he gets."
"Gotta get all A's." Sirius said with a soft laugh, that was matching with Delilah's.
"We should go..I still need to get changed.."
"No, stay." Sirius said wrapping his arms around Delilah.
"I would but, if we're late, Mcgonagall is going to kill us. Wait for me downstairs?" Delilah said standing up and putting on Sirius jacket.
"Ye- hey that's mine."
"I'll return it later." She said with a wink as she walked up to Remus bed and placed the blanket that had fallen during the night back in his bed.
"You better." Sirius said smiling softly at his girlfriend. He was pretty sure there was no one he loved more other than that girl.
"Bye." She said with a small wave and made her way into her room, where she found her friends awake and getting ready.
"Morning girls." She said making her way to her bed.
"Good morning Miss Black." Marlene said, a grin showing up on her face.
"Don't."
"How was the night?"
"Wild?" Asked Alice.
"Oh Merlin, no." Delilah answered laughing. "We literally just slept together." Delilah said, starting to get ready.
"Yea sure." Marlene said.
"Slept. Marlene. Slept." She said, throwing her pillow at the blonde girl.
"Oh shut up, I know you. You're gonna be 20 and saying "we just slept" together. When everyone in this room knows there will be a baby Greene-Black by then."
"A baby? In my 20's. No thank you. That would be a nightmare Marlene. Plus we're just 16. There's not much we can do yet you crazy."
"I mean sixteen is a good-"
"Marlene!" Delilah said laughing.
"Just you wait my friend. Just you wait." Everyone in the girls dorm was laughing and, soon enough all of them were ready and going down the stairs.
"Oi Black. Don't get Delilah pre-"
"Marlene!" Delilah said, slapping the back of Marlene's head.
"I'm just looking out for you."
"Yes yes now, off you go. Bye bye." Delilah said, as she took Sirius hand.
"What was that about?" Sirius asked confused.
"Nothing. Trust me. Let's go before we get late, come on." She said as she pulled him outside the common room and they made their way to the great hall, hand in hand.

The day went by as usual, they had classes but the four friends didn't really seem to be focussing that much on that particular day. The toughed of Remus being already feeling so bad, made them think on how he would be feeling during the actual full moon. They've seen terrible things already like him scratching all of his body, or biting himself but the worst part of it all, were the screams. Every time Remus transforms into his werewolf form, he makes the most agonizing sounds. It breaks Delilah to watch it and know that there is nothing she can do to help her friend. Then, comes the outcome of the night. Every single one of them comes back with wounds or scratches but, Remus is always the worst one.
Delilah has spent some time with Madame Pomfrey and she had shown some interest into wanting to know how to take care of wounds. How to clean them and disinfect them. But she never told her why. Madame Pomfrey eventually found out, because at some point Remus stoped showing up there after a full moon. The girl took the job of taking care of the boys after they help Remus. Sometimes she'd go with them, other times she'd wait up on the common room.
Usually, Sirius, James, Peter and Delilah would end up falling asleep by the fire at the common room, to make sure Remus had the rest he needed without anyone bothering him. Sirius and James would help him up to the dorm, where Delilah would then clean up his wounds and help him get into bed, going downstairs after to take care of the other three. It has been going on for a few months now, but they never complained. After all that's what the Marauders do. They're there for each other. And no one could ever get in their way. Or could they? It was the end of their last class of the day, and all they wanted to do was go and rest before that night.

"I say we make a cozy date on that willow beside the river." Delilah said, starting to pack up her school suplies.
"You just wanna sit in my lap and use my jacket as a cover, don't you?" Sirius said, knowing his girlfriend better than he knows himself.
"Maybe." She said with a soft grin "but you know..just some us time, before tonight."
"Yea, I liked it. Maybe we could watch the sunset, how about that?"
"I'd love that." Delilah said, placing her things into her bag, as their professor had allowed them to leave the classroom.
"Then come on, let's go." He said as he sticked his hand out, holding hers.
"And maybe we could-" Delilah started, before being interrupted by professor Binns.
"Mr. Black?" The professor called only to see both, Sirius and Delilah looking back.
"I said Mr Black."
"Right. You're getting detention." Delilah said grinning at Sirius.
"You wished."
"Mr. Black. Miss Greene."
"I'll be in the willow." Delilah said with a soft, yet annoyed smile and Sirius just noded. Then, she left the classroom and he walked up to the professor desk.
"Yes professor?" Sirius asked, bag strap on his shoulder, looking at Mr. Binns.
"About your essay from last week. You forgot to deliver it."
"Oh, yea, right. Must have forgotten it im my bed." Sirius said, giving a casual smile.
"Forgot or didn't do it?"
"Forgot. Sir."
"Maybe, if you avoided certain "distractions" you wouldn't forget to deliver you papers in time Mr Black."
"If you're implying that my girlfriend is a distraction, I can guarantee you Sir, that she is not."
"I expect to see the paper in my desk next week. If not, you'll have another detention."
"Will that be all?" Sirius asked unbothered.
"Yes." Mr Binns said, and Sirius turned around and left to go outside, making his way to meet Delilah by the willow, only to find Severus Snape hiding, looking at her.
