The one where Conrad supports you after a fight with your ex.

You and Conrad had been dating for just over a month. You guys had been friends for years, but just recently you made it official. It started as just a hookup- a rebound if you will, but it turned into something much more. You always knew that there were feelings lingering for Conrad but that night made them come to the surface- for you and Conrad both.

You needed a rebound after finding out your boyfriend of 2 years cheated on you with some random girl. You only found out about it weeks after it happened, and turns out it wasn't just the one time. You were angry and sad and needed something to take your mind off of him. Conrad was that something, which he was more than okay with. Not long after that hookup your feelings resurfaced and you began ignoring Conrad. He picked up on this and confronted you about it, while revealing his feelings first- totally unlike him.

Long story short, a hookup turned into a real relationship. One that you were very excited about and one with someone who you could trust wholeheartedly. After all, if he ever did anything to hurt you, you would just tell his mom, and you knew she would be on your side and talk some sense into him.

You were at a party hosted at the country club in Cousins. You weren't entirely sure what it was for but you knew that you had to go, so you and Conrad got dressed up and went to this event. You hated these kind of things because the people there were not usually very nice, but since Conrad was from a well-known family it was expected that he showed up to these things, and so you did.

You got sat at the back of the room, that which you were very glad for. As you were sitting at your table you look across the room and see your ex there, the cheater. You hadn't spoken to him since you broke up. It had been about 2 months since that happened and you weren't sure you wanted to see him so soon. You were over him, and happy now but it did still hurt to think about what he did. You hoped to just avoid him the whole night.

That didn't go very well because about a minute after you noticed him, he began walking across the room towards you. You took in a deep breath and prepared for the interaction. It was going to stay civil. You can both coexist at this place and not scream at him, despite how badly you wanted to. You pasted on a fake smile as he approached.

"Hi Marcus" you said as calmly as you could. You didn't want him to know that he still made you angry, he didn't deserve it. "Fancy seeing you here".

"I should be saying the same for you y/n. This isn't really your scene" he said in a way that made it seem like he knew you better than you knew yourself.

"Well I've changed. I'm quite enjoying myself" you smirked at him. That was a complete lie but he didn't need to know that.

"Hey y/n can we talk? Y'know about what happened? And about us. You never really gave me the chance to explain myself" Marcus said as if you were the one in the wrong.

"There's nothing to discuss. I don't know why you did what you did and I don't care to know". It was getting harder to stay polite.

Marcus stepped closer to you. "Please y/n. Just give me 5 minutes. Hear me out. Please". It seemed like he genuinely wanted to make things better so you agreed, "fine" you said with a long breath.

You didn't want to have this conversation in front of everyone so you excused yourself from Conrad and gestured for Marcus to follow you through the back hallway to where a door said staff only.

You turned around once you got to the door and stared at Marcus. "Okay, what's there to talk about?"

"Well first off I want to say it's nice to see you. And talk to you. It's been like 2 months since either of those things happened and I missed you".
