Authors Notes:
- POV you secretly dated Chris Mclean between seasons of Total Drama and then he visits you at home lol
- AS ALWAYS: All contestants (including y/n) were 21 or thereabouts during the first season of Total Drama.
- Power move: I control your mother now.
- Y/M/N is your mother's name
- Fun fact: I actually have a STRONG disdain for y/n fanfics, not that you'd know from looking at anything I've ever posted on ao3/Wattpad
- Anyway, once again this was a fic that I wrote for myself which I pulled all the OC names out of and replaced with "Y/N" or "Y/M/N" (and it's pretty old)
- I've got mommy issues waaa so I like to give my ocs better lives and familial relationships. I know, I'm a kind and benevolent god.
- Oh yeah, like my other TD fics - you and Chris are sort of on-and-off dating. SECRETLY THOUGH.
- You're a bit famous following Total Drama and, due to being the only person who will tolerate Chris, do a lot of press and promo for the show.
- Just bear with me here.
- Said it before and I'll say it again, all contestants were 21 during the first season of TD
- UPDATE 23/08/23 - To make this fic fit in better with literally every single other TD fic I've written (and the evolved OC who used to be in your place), I've updated this fic to use gender-neutral pronouns. I also just did a little editing for quality of life AND changed 'mum' to 'mom' in order to cater to the North American audiences ;)

Three hours doesn't SOUND like a huge time difference, until first thing in the morning. When you couldn't get to sleep til a little later than usual but still woke up early and your brain is just desperately trying to bring itself back online.

This was Y/N's jet lag for a few days after coming back home from their time in The States. When they were on set, they were mainly in L.A - which was no big deal, but the convention in New York managed to throw them. As they made their 8am coffee, Y/N vaguely acknowledged a Jaguar pull-up outside.

Nice.

Beyond briefly appreciating the car's brand, Y/N didn't pay any attention to it for a few moments as they stirred their coffee. As they turned to leave the kitchen, however, their brain effectively kicked into gear.

Too nice. Too nice to be pulling up outside our house. Something's up.

Quickly, they spun back around. Before they could start their sleuthing skills, however, a knock came at the front door.

"On it!" Y/N called, being the closest person to the front door anyway.

Y/N rubbed their face as they traipsed out of the kitchen in their pyjama pants, old band t-shirt and Batman dressing gown. For a moment they thought that if their visitor was the owner of the rather nice sports car outside, they'd be under-dressed. They sighed the thought away, however, as they was something of a celebrity themself now and could afford to be seen in their pyjamas.

Turns out, Y/N didn't really need their coffee. What they saw when they opened the door shocked them awake.

"Good morning?" Chris Mclean said with a smile.

Y/N just blinked at him for a moment, holding the door opened. Their lips were forming words but no sound came out. They furrowed their brow and cocked their head to the side slightly as they collected their thoughts.

"That's weird," they murmured, more to themself than to Chris.

He gave them a questioning look and Y/N just shook their head.

"Have I been voted out of my home, forced to take the Jag of losers?" They finally said.

Chris laughed and Y/N grimaced at their own joke.

"What the hell are you doing here?" they asked.

"What? I can't just come visit my favourite contestant?"
