Unfair Advantage

Author's Notes:
- ALL characters are aged up. The Total Drama cast, including yourself, were between 18 and 21 during the first season and a few years have gone by since then, anyway.
- A very, VERY short "one-shot" (if you can even call it that) that I found in my drafts.
- Originally a fic using the prompt "I'm good, aren't I?" that I totally forgot about and never continued or completed, but I still like it tbh.
- It may read a little awkwardly as I just removed my OC's name and pronouns and replaced them with "Y/N" and "you" lol.

"Wait a minute, they have seven players to our six! No fair!" Jo exclaimed with her arms crossed.

"I needed the extra seat on the plane for that Ezekiel prank!" Chris shrugged, flashing his million-dollar grin that normally got him out of any sort of trouble.

Today, it simply wasn't working in his favour.

"Y/N was on that plane taking up one of those seats, too," Heather said, jabbing an accusatory finger at you, "they should have to play for us."

The rest of the team nodded and chattered in agreement, Chris's smile turned to a scowl.

"She's not wrong," came your voice from beside him.

Chris rubbed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing annoyedly. As he pushed his hand through his hair, you simply shrugged and began to take a step forward. However, you were stopped by Chris's hand coming down hard on your shoulder and pulling you back a step.

"Not a chance," he said, not even opening his eyes.

The Villainous Vultures let out groans and arguments. You weren't keen to play another season of Total Drama, especially after being promised a hosting gig, but you weren't about to let your friends down, either. You tried to plead their case to Chris.

"Chris, come on. It's a seriously unfair advantage! You have to let me p-"

He silenced you by putting his hand over your mouth. For a second, you were shocked.

"Seriously?!" you said, not that you could be understood.

"Y/N isn't playing this season. That's a lot of paperwork I really don't want to-"

You bit down on Chris's hand. He yelped and yanked it away as you glared at him with crossed arms. He rubbed his injured right hand with his left as he continued, sending an angry look your way.

"-don't want to do! But, as I was GOING to say before I got BIT, the Vultures can take the robot."

You were about to protest again, but Chris shot you a knowing glance. The robot in question let out a few disgruntled beeps before it wheeled its way over to the Villainous Vultures team. You didn't fail to notice how close it was to Heather, and realisation dawned on you.

"I'm good, aren't I?" Chris murmured proudly to his companion.

"You aren't going to hear that from me," you replied flatly.

"What are you two WHISPERING about," Lightning interrupted.

You and Chris looked back at the team who Lightning had alerted to your discussion.

"I'm just realising what Chris is doing," you deadpanned.

Chris once again covered your mouth and returned your glare with a grin.

"I'll bite you again," you warned.

Despite it being muffled, Chris picked up on the general threat.

"I'm counting on it, maybe later though?" He hummed, just loud enough for you to hear.

Your eyes widened and Chris dropped his hand, knowing that definitely stunned you into silence for a few minutes. He launched back into explaining the new season to the two teams, and you fumed as you recomposed yourself.
