I apologize in advance for the bad Ukranian. Google Translate certainly was used.

Mischa glanced down at his watch. Nine minutes. He had to wait nine minutes before he would finally be able to meet his love in person. It felt like far too long. He was many things, but patient was certainly not one of them. He gazed out the window and watched the planes, wondering which one she was on and how long it would take for said plane to land.

A job offer had come up in Ukraine, and Talia had taken it. She had eventually saved up enough to be able to fly over to Uranium, as long as she could stay at Mischa's house. His adoptive parents made it their full time job to stay as far away from him as possible, so he pretty much owned the house during the day, and they certainly weren't checking in on him before he went to sleep. So she was staying at his house. In Uranium. With him. It was still setting in. He admired his fiance's incredible money management skills, as well as her incredible patience, even more than he had before. She really was perfect.

She had her own life in Ukraine, he knew that, but he'd noticed that she'd started talking to him more and more over the course of the past few months. He'd found the people following her on her Instagram, and they didn't seem to talk about Talia at all. Maybe she wasn't as popular as he thought.

He'd ask her about that later, though. Now, he had to be positive.

She had certainly gotten more beautiful as time went on, though. Her almond eyes had become more defined, more mature, as did all of her facial features. She was really a woman now, the most beautiful woman Mischa had ever seen. Her latest Instagram post was of her in a vyshyvanka, smiling, twirling and posing for the camera. She had gotten taller, grown her hair out a bit, applied some neutral makeup. All of it suited her. She looked like a goddess, standing outside, the winter sun shining behind her. Nature was just a background whenever Talia was around, and it knew its place.

Mischa wiped his palms on his jeans. He really ought to have worn something more formal than a shirt and jeans, but the shirt was his only non-uniform item that could be considered semi-respectable, and the jeans were the only clean pair of pants he had, so they would have to do. He'd tried gelling his hair back, but immediately regretted it after finding out that it made his hair look, well, gelled, which certainly didn't look good on him. So he'd washed that off.

So here he was, alone at the airport without any baggage, looking more presentable than usual, constantly glancing around, clearly waiting for someone. She would be here in eight minutes, if his watch was correct. Somehow it'd only been a minute since he last checked. He reached down into his backpack to make sure that he still had everything, as if it would somehow have disappeared. There was really only one thing in there that he wanted to make sure was safe. He felt his fingers graze the gift he'd gotten for his love. Thank god.

He looked around and saw that there was a small flower arrangement in the middle of the small shopping area just before the terminal. He slowly walked over to it and took a few flowers, wishing they were sunflowers. His country's flower would've felt more personal, but he hadn't thought to bring any and the small airport gift shops didn't sell any. So the mixed bunch he'd grabbed would have to do.

He had five more minutes to wait, if the airport clock was correct. Just too little time to do anything in, but too much time to have to sit still and wait. Just as he had resigned himself to having to continue staring out the large window, he heard a small ping from behind him. Right. He had his phone. All of the excitement had somehow made him forget about the very thing which had allowed him to meet the person flying to him right now. Ironic.

He checked his phone. No texts, except for a "Good luck!" from the choir groupchat. He texted a quick "Thanks" in response and went to text Talia before remembering that she wouldn't have internet on the plane. Obviously. He put his phone back in his pocket. First forgetting he had his phone, and now this. Why was he so forgetful today? Maybe he was more nervous than he thought he was.

He had been waiting for this moment for ages, why was he nervous about it? He knew Talia loved him, and knew he felt the same. Surely meeting him face-to-face wouldn't affect how she thought of him. Right?

What if she didn't like how he looked? He knew she'd seen him with the rest of the choir on his social media, what if she thought that his friends weren't respectable? What if...

"Mischa?" A light, breathy voice called, "Mischa Bachinski?"  Mischa dropped his backpack, turned, ran towards the person calling him, and hugged her tightly. He knew who the speaker was. The only person in the airport that knew his name. The most wonderful person he knew. Talia.

"Oh!" She exclaimed, before returning the gesture and kissing him on the cheek, causing him to go red with surprise. He was shocked, but pleasantly so. He kissed her back and before quickly pulling away, having realised that he'd dropped his bag in the middle of the floor. He told Talia this and went to go pick it up, retrieving the gift he'd brought for her and slipping it into the pocket opposite his phone. He'd give it to her in a moment.

"Отже, як справи?" She asked, laughing. "Я чудово, тепер, коли ти тут »." He answered. The shock of the greeting had started to wear off by now, and Mischa wanted to make sure that the happiness of them meeting each other stayed for as long as possible. Maybe this wasn't the right time, but in his mind, it was now or never.

"Наталія Муруська Болінська, ви можете не знати, чому я думаю, що це так, але я. Ти мені все. Ви заслуговуєте на світ і багато іншого. Я сподіваюся, що зможу вам це дати. Отже, як кажуть американці, will you marry me?" He got down on one knee and pulled out the ring from his back pocket. They were technically engaged before, but he thought that such a wonderful girl deserved a romantic, in-person proposal. And now she'd gotten it. He waited with bated breath for her response, getting more nervous by the second.

"Da! Я люблю тебе, Міша, я б ніколи не сказав ні!" Talia responded breathlessly, taking the ring and placing it on her finger.

Talia leaned over, and Mischa did the same. They kissed, a long, passionate kiss, and Mischa was ecstatic. He'd just had a movie-worthy proposal with his now proper fiance. Who wouldn't be?
