The night seemed to stretch on endlessly as Sarah lay in her bed, her mind racing with the revelations from the locked chest. Mark's expression grew grave as he listened. "This is disturbing, Sarah. We need to find out who these subjects are and what happened to them." Sarah nodded in agreement. Inside, they found a collection of personal belongings—identification cards, photographs, and personal letters.

The names on the identification cards matched the code names mentioned in the journals. Subject Alpha was a woman named Emily, and Subject Beta was a man named James. The photographs showed happier times, with Emily and James smiling in family photos, surrounded by loved ones.

As they read the personal letters, a heartbreaking story began to emerge.
