I only know a few minor details about Anupama. Her age? Well, it's definitely on the younger side of my usual preferences, but I won't even hazard a guess. Her last name? Nope, not a clue. And as for how long she's staying here at this resort, your guess is as good as mine.
But what I do know is that last night, our dirty words in the moonlit darkness seemed to make the world disappear, and her grip tightened around me in all the right ways. I could practically write a book about the spot on her throat that drove her wild when I nibbled and sucked on it. And most importantly, I know that, for the first time in my life, I'm actually dreading the sunrise, wishing for more time with her.
As we stand there, her back pressed against my chest, the soft fabric of my button-up shirt drapes lazily over her, giving me the perfect excuse to run my fingers across her silky stomach. The night passed in a blur of sultry kisses, whispered confessions, and sandy entanglements.
This wasn't my first one-night stand, but it sure felt like it in so many ways. It was spontaneous, reckless, and incredibly intimate. Maybe it was the way the full moon bathed us in its silvery glow, or perhaps it was the thrill of sneaking away from my business trip to rendezvous with this breathtaking woman by the lake.
Her bony elbow playfully nudges my abs, pulling me from my thoughts. "You've had your way with me for hours, and it's still hard to figure out what's going on in that head of yours."
I can't help but let out a low chuckle, leaning down to place a tender kiss on the top of her head. "I'm not a man of many words," I admit, my voice husky from the night's escapades.
Anupama turns in my lap, facing me now. My shirt hangs open on her, revealing a tantalizing hint of her chest and all the bare skin except for her tiny bikini bottoms. Her arms rest on my shoulders, and she shifts into position to straddle my lap.
My hands instinctively come up to cup her exquisite curves, and she grins, blocking the sun behind her. "You did just fine without them last night," she purrs, leaning closer.
I capture her lips with mine, a hunger building between us. It's no longer just her I taste on her lips; it's the intoxicating blend of us.
But then, my phone's alarm interrupts our stolen moment. We both glance towards the source, knowing all too well what that chime signifies.
"I've never liked that sound," she grumbles, glaring at my phone as if it's the enemy. It's a harsh reminder that this was always meant to be a one-night affair.
Sighing, I slip out from beneath her, quickly making my way to my phone to silence the alarm. It's the cruel reminder that I have to return to the real world, and she has to rejoin her family.
She comes up behind me, her body pressing against mine. The warmth of the morning sun makes our skin stick together, her cheek molding to the contours of my back.
For a brief moment, I contemplate asking her out on a date. She didn't mention how much longer she'd be at this Texas resort, and I just got here. There's a chance we could spend a few more days together.
But I don't.
I won't.
As unforgettable as that summer night was, it's time to face reality. I've got a day packed with meetings disguised as a "work retreat." Work is work, whether it's in a different state, by a lake, or not, and I simply don't have the time for a date.
"It hurts to walk," she mumbles, her voice slightly muffled as she talks into my back.
I can't help but laugh, turning to face her and enveloping her in a warm hug. I appreciate that she's not letting this moment get awkward or sad. Her comment breaks the building tension between us. "I won't apologize for that," I reply without hesitation.
She looks up at me, and I cup her cheeks as she starts speaking again. "You better not apologize for it. It would ruin the whole image of you I've got in my head."
