"Papa?" a small voice calls from the darkness of a doorway. "Yes my child?" the man smiles as he turns to see his child standing wrapped up in a patterned gold and green blanket. "I can't sleep," they respond with a yawn. the man outstretches his arms, ready to envelope the child in a warm and loving embrace. the slight sound of pitter patter of small feet echoes in the once silent room. He tucks his only girl in his arms, shielding her from the crisp breeze of the air.
"What troubles you? Was it those nightmares again?' The man asks, tucking a piece of blonde hair behind her ear. She nods as she hides her face under the blanket, then forcing her face into her fathers chest. "Come now my sweet, nothing will ever harm you. I will always fight the monsters away and keep you safe, do you hear?" The man softly states as he pulls the blanket back slightly. The green eyed girl nods her head as she turns slightly in her fathers arms. towards the open doors of a large balcony as the the light and darkness of the sky clash causing an array of colours.
Having the warmth of her fathers embrace and the sight before her, she begins to doze off into a peaceful sleep. Her father looks down noticing the even breaths of his little girl, a small content smile graces his lips as he turns back to the walk down the dimly lit hallway, towards her bedroom. Reaching the large double doors one being slightly agar, pushing it further open with his foot as he steps into his daughter room. The walls painted green in an array of pattwrns, paintings displayed on each wall as large heavy forest green and gold drapes cover the windows. ◇Present Day◇
Hot summer evening as the bustling city of New York continues on, people shouting, cars honking and screeching to a holt as people cross the streets. People moving around like ants moving from shop to shop trying to get the best bargain or just on a spending spree.
Families playing in parks and having picnics enjoying the remnants of the day before night envelopes the city in darkness. While at the top of the eye catching tower resides the stars of the city the famous and well known for a lot of destruction, The Avengers.
However, unlike the city, the people have other things going on...
The brunette man sits up panting and dripping in sweat as he clutches the sweat sodden sheets. Looking around his plain room as if to guarantee he is awake, tense shoulders begin to relax slightly, realising he is in fact awake, awake from the nightmare he was just having.
He takes a few more steadying breaths before pulling the duvet away from his lower body and swinging his muscular legs over the side of the bed, resting his feet on the cold flooring. Running a hand through his knotted mane, he stands up, heading towards his en-site. Readying himself for the day ahead.
