Chapter 15
Marc and I had collectively decided that aeroplanes and airports were a big no no. With people actively looking for me, there was no way I would make it through customs so this essentially left us with two possible ways of making it to the continent, the Channel Tunnel or a boat.
"Let's just take the train. It will be easier and faster and more comfortable," I argued with Marc.
My hands were fastened firmly to my hips and I was glaring at him. How could I get the most annoying mate in existence? There was just that ingrained arrogance and sarcasm which annoyed me to no end. So this argument was just one of many and quite frankly I was getting fed. For the past three days, we had been zig zagging our way down the country, trying to deter people that were tracking us. Sure it was longer but it was the safest option we had available to us right now.
"No. We can't. They will most likely have patrols and people watching. We would get caught almost immediately. Jeez. Do you know anything at all?" Marc sighed, running a frustrated hand through his hair.
"Oh well, I am sorry Mr I Know Everything. I shifted for the first time a week ago. I have been involved in this whole world the same amount of time. Guess what? I have no experience in fleeing for my life. Stop being such an..."
"Asshole? Yeah I get it. Look, we will just take a boat to get across. It will be better and easier avoiding all the potential problems in place," Marc replied, flatly.
"Well, where are you going to get a boat from?"
"Who said getting one? I was thinking stealing it," Marc spoke, with a mischievous glint in his eye.
"You have to be kidding me," I mumbled, my eyes wide.
"Not at all Princess," he smirked.
Well that was it. The decision was ultimately decided so I was now going to become a criminal at the same time in all of this. We began changing our direction, heading more for the coast this time. We had been away from trackers for a while and hadn't had any immediate threat either. I thought it was a good sign. Marc wasn't so sure, believing that it was just another part of their plan to regroup and make sure we don't get out of the country. Either way, I was exhausted. Not physically but mentally and emotionally I was destroyed. I was still grieving and coming to grips with anything but everything was moving so fast. We were constantly travelling and we were constantly on the road.
