One year later...
" It's another beautiful day here in Los Angeles," said the radio announcer. " Lovely day for a concert, speaking of which, if you were one of the lucky few to secure tickets to The TrapBoys final North American show, first, I am so jealous, second, you'll definitely recognize the heartthrobs coming up next. Techno Blood has been topping the charts since starring as special guests alongside Katrina Stuart on The TrapBoys tour and now their single written by TrapBoys singer Colby Brock is on route to becoming one of the biggest hits our Top 10 list has ever seen. Here is Bad by Techno Blood."
Song 8: Techno Blood. This song plays on the radio and as the song ends, we cut to Sam and Colby.
Colby straightened out his jacket and fixed up his hair. This was one of the most important nights of their lives and Colby wanted to look just right. He tore his attention away from his reflection in the mirror when Sam exited his room looking like a godsent. Colby looked at him in awe as he walked over.
"Wow," said Colby, pulling Sam in close. " Ok, we need to stay here, I don't want anyone else to see you in this."
" Not a chance," said Sam. " This is your night. Remember, no matter what happens, I'm proud of you."
" I know," said Colby. " If I ever needed a good luck kiss, it would be now."
" Come here," said Sam, leaning in to kiss Colby. " We should get going, the Red Carpet starts in half an hour."
Colby stepped out of the limo and pulled Sam with him, walking hand in hand as they did some interviews and posed for some photos before going in. Colby clutched Sam's hand tightly throughout the entire awards ceremony. Colby understood that they needed to keep the biggest award for the end of the night but man Colby just wanted to get it over with. The night was almost over, so Colby knew it would be any minute now.
The female presenter carried on with her nominees for Song of the Year. " And the Grammy for Song of the Year goes to...Bad by Techno Blood," she read.
Applause erupted from the audience. Sam, Colby and the rest of the band all congratulated them as they walked by. Seth had stopped to hug Colby before going on stage.
" Wow!" said Seth. " Wow, wow, I'm speechless, honestly. There are tons of people we need to thank tonight and we'll make sure to do that, but we wanted to give the biggest Thank You to Colby Brock. This song wouldn't have happened with you man, we love you, you're one of the coolest guys we've ever met and worked with. Thank you, thank you, this award is dedicated to you."
Seth pointed to Colby as he walked off stage and Colby pointed back. The moment had finally arrived. Colby let out a deep breath and Sam held his hand and smiled at him as they listened to the nominees for Album of the Year, The TrapBoys being one of them. Colby swore he stopped breathing for a second as the presenter opened the envelope.
" And the Grammy for Album of the Year goes to ... .Rush! The Trapboys," he said.
Sam jumped up excitedly hugging Colby tightly as the band made their way to the stage. Sam went to sit back down.
" Un uh," said Colby. " You're coming with me."
Colby took Sam's hand and led him up on to the stage followed by the rest of the band mates. Colby looked at the golden award in his hand and he passed it over to Jake as he stepped up to the mic.
" I, wow, damn guys," said Colby. There were cheers from the crowd. "I want to thank our manager Selena, for always keeping us in line, and our crew for making our tour possible. I wanna thank the fans, you guys are amazing, I love you all. Most importantly, I wanna thank these amazing guys up here that work harder than you guys could ever imagine on stage. They're my brothers for life. Seriously, I'm nothing without them. Lastly, I want to thank this beautiful human standing next to me. Thank you, Sam, for always believing in me, in us and for inspiring me to live in the moment and to stop and smell the roses. You made it all worth it."
