embry call and maliah ateara had been best friends for over ten years adn they'd loved each other as more than friends just as long. it started at a party with two inebriated teens hooking up in a bathroom and blossomed into true love.
as embry and maliah fell deeper in love with one another, he made a promise that he would never leave her or hurt her. but when he phases, embry is forced to break that promise and to cover his ass, tells maliah over the phone that he just doesn't love her anymore.
quil had never seen his sister so sad and it killed him that he couldn't tell her what was going on as soon as he knew it himself. it also killed him that he coucln't do anything to embry without incurring sam and emily's wrath.
when maliah finds out she's pregnant, she attempts to drop her grudge against embry so she can give her baby a stable family, but how can she so easily forgive him after he broke her heart over the phone?
