By the time Leon arrived at the abandoned rail yard, the police had probably been busy for some time cordoning off and securing the area, while the forensics team had begun their work, taking photos, bagging items, and taking swabs.
Anything the forensics team found, despite countless samples and swabs, would surely come up empty again. After so many crime scenes and interviews with victims and their families, there was still no solid evidence to build a meaningful profile of the perpetrator.
Leon didn't need confirmation that it was true, there was too much going on here for that. This was a Jigsaw trap.
"The bodies are still inside," a policeman said as Leon approached, pointing with his thumb over his shoulder to the large building behind him, "it's going to take a while in there."
Not a pretty sight, Leon could still hear the policeman muttering as he passed, so a gasp escaped him. What else could it be? When had a Jigsaw trap ever been a pretty sight? Even if one person had survived, it was a grotesque sight, thanks to the constructions and the mental cinema that started almost by itself.
