No one agreed. I asked every single detective in our precinct and even went to the precinct where I transferred from, and still had no such luck. Everyone said I was crazy, that the evidence and profiles didn't match, and that I had no case. No one wanted to take a leap of faith with me and catch this woman.
They were affirmative that a woman couldn't kill. It was pathetic that they believed that only men were killers. Sure, women were less likely to kill, but it still happened. My determination was strong to avenge my partner's death and find out what really happened that night, and if no one wanted to help me, then I'd do it alone.
With or without my badge, I'd get that wretched devil of a woman in sheep's clothing. She had everyone fooled. She truly did, but I knew her. I knew what she was capable of. Over the past five years, there were over a hundred bodies with bullets between their eyes.
The bodies sometimes passed across state lines, and as of late, her killing spree passed a whole continent. What was strange was how odd her killings were. They ranged from men with petty rap sheets to men who were revoltingly bad to the core.
Yes, some of them maybe didn't even deserve to live, but it wasn't her call. Yes, some of the men she has killed were murderers and rapists. She even killed a few leaders of a very large and well-connected human trafficking ring. She was smart with her kills, though.
The bodies would be found hundreds of miles apart, and her killings weren't right after each other. I guess if I was thinking clearly, I knew that this case was non-existent, that I had no actual shred of evidence against her, but I'd get her. I'd get that woman if it was the last thing that I do.
Captain Park was right. I was young, and I was obsessing, but surely I wouldn't lose my mind this early in life.
