Yumi was lost, her mind blanked, even though she could clearly hear and saw everyone there clapping their hands, smiling, and some of them just shouting some words in excitement. When she looked around lightly she even saw Kim Mija Imo shedded tears on her eyes and lean towards Heo Junjin Samcheon, and on the other side she saw her own father smiling proudly.

She felt Heo Joon Jae squish her body gently and placed kisses on her temple while murmuring "I love you, My Love. I love you Kim Yumi!"

Yumi grabbed a fistful of Joon Jae's blazer on the side to hold on because her knees felt numb. She took a little space by leaning her body backward to look at Joon Jae's eyes. She realized his eyes were glassing but his lips parted in a very wide smile. She couldn't help herself but smiled too and he hugged her once again. In his arms, Yumi exhaled and inhaled to calm herself down and still tried to make up her blank mind.

After the main event of blowing a candle— and of course the surprise proposal by the birthday boy himself that turned the birthday party into an engagement night—, the party turned to casual mingling amongst everyone who were still there. But some of the guests were already left too.

Yumi was sitting alone on a malas bench near the pool which was decorated by candles and lamps. She looked at the new ring on her own finger, rubbing the ruby stone and diamonds slowly.

"Hey," Heo Joon Jae said and touched her shoulder gently but she couldn't help herself from a little bit startled because she was lost in her mind. She didn't hear his steps coming closer.

"You startled me, Oppa!"

Heo Joon Jae sat down on the same bench, handed a glass of cocktail with a cherry red on it to her, "Sorry, I don't mean it, Love. But why are you sitting here alone? Dami and Kim Shin Samcheon were looking for you. They are about to go home I guess."

Yumi sipped her cocktail slowly and then placed it on her other side before turning to face her fiancé. The word fiancé still felt so strange for her.

"I just need space and fresh air, Oppa. Because everything that just happened surprised me alot." she gave him a little smile.

Joon Jae looked into her eyes deeply and reached her hands and caged that with his own. "I know I've shocked you about this sudden engagement."

Yumi didn't answer, waiting for his next words.

"I also fully understand that you are still not ready to marry me. Just yet. But, Love, I need assurance. I need to feel secure in this relationship. I want us to be in a more committed relationship. So, I think the best choice for us now is to engage," he cupped Yumi's face with his hand, "Can you understand me, Love?"

Yumi still looked at his eyes for a while but couldn't find any word. She was still too shocked and blanked. So she chose to lean her head on his chest. He hugged her back and rested his chin on top of her head and murmured I love you.

It was nearly two a.m when Heo Joon Jae stopped his car in front of Yumi's clinic building. "I hate this! I still want to spend more time with you!" He exclaimed as Yumi unbuckled her seatbelt.

She leaned herself toward him and rubbed his arm ups and downs gently. "It's okay. We always have another time. Now, better you go because they need you as soon as possible." Then she placed a simple kiss on his cheek before getting herself out of his car.

She waved as he drove his car away. Actually, she felt rather thankful because he got an emergency call from the hospital because there was something troublesome during an important surgery at that time— that didn't mean she felt thankful with someone's life or death matter, she was wishing the surgery would be all fine with an excellent result though.
