"You're seriously editing right now?"

Chris sighed heavily as he turned to face his girlfriend, Mercedes. She was settled upon the edge of his bed, giving him an unamused stare. "Mcht, I gotta finish this vid to get paid"

"I really thought you'd be over this little phase by now," She scoffed before continuing, "Editing isn't even a real fucking job"

Chris immediately sat up, abandoning his laptop so his full attention was on her and their conversation. "Why you tryna start sum'n, y'know that I'm serious 'bout this shit.. Like you supposed to be supporting me, you're my girl" He responded with an exasperated tone.

"Oh, don't use that tone wit me, Chris. You know I've been supportive of your ass for the past three months! No girl gonna stay wit a man-child like you but I did."

He stared at her with a perplexed expression. "Man-child? I'm not no damn man-child. I'm working hard on growing my skills"

She let out a brief half-hearted chuckle, "What skills? Putting a couple effects over a video doesn't require any damn skill at all! You always editing but I don't see any improvement and it's been how long now?!"

"This shit takes time! It takes years for some mfs to blow up!" Chris shouted as his temper was beginning to rise.

Mercedes mean mugged him before standing up and crossing her arms. "I don't know who tf you think you yelling at but I'm not the one. And years? It only took me three months to blow up on ig when you been doing this shit longer and don't even have a third of my followers"

"That's cuz you a hoe! You be posing half-naked like no shit you gon' blow up!" He didn't care if he was hurting feelings, he was tired of the blatant disrespect.

On cue, her eyes began to well up with crocodile tears. "So I'm a hoe now? I can't believe you.." She replied shakily.

His eyes widened as he caught gaze of her eyes and her tone. "Yo, are you fucking crying?! You're the one who started this shit!"

"Whatever.. man, I don't even know why I stay wit you. It's not like we even do shit fr"

He groaned, talking to her was like talking to a walking headache. "Then leave tf?! I ain't forcing you to stay here!"

She quickly began gathering her things and stuffing them into her purse while sniffing. Chris started to feel slightly guilty, despite her starting their argument, and tried to gently grab her so she would stop packing up. "Look, I ain't mean t-"

She harshly pushed him backwards and swung her crossbody purse over her left shoulder. "I don't even wanna hear it.. I can't do this shit anymore, Chris"

He watched silently as she laced her sneakers up, he knew he had to respect her decision at the end of the day.

"Wow.. and you're not even gonna fight for us?" The audacity this woman had was crazy.

"You literally-"

She put her hand up, signaling him to be quiet. "Whatever, delete my number too" She sassily threw open his bedroom door and walked out, not even bothering to shut his door after.

He knew she was completely gone once he heard the front door slam shut. "What the fuck jus' happened.." He whispered to himself quietly as it dawned on him that they were officially over now.
