Sonic's POV
I sat in Shadow's room waking back and forth waiting for the doctors to bring him in. Then the door opened, Shadow was on a gurney, but he was asleep. An air mask was placed on his mouth and nose. They also had cables all over him and that beeping machine, I don't know what it's called.
After the doctor came Scourge came along. They placed the bed against the wall. Scourge stood right by Shadow's bedside, and held his hand.
"Doctor...what's wrong with him? Will he be okay?" I asked. The doctor took me to the side.
"Since he was hit at the temple of his head, he's fallen over a coma. If he would have gotten hit harder, he would have died-"
"When will he wake up?" I asked.
"I'm sorry, but we don't know. It could be days, weeks, months... There's no way to tell." He said. "We'll be feeding him through a feeding tube in his stomach-"
"No."
"Excuse me?" He asked.
"Don't feed him, he doesn't eat at all." I said.
"We can't starve him sir. He needs to eat." The doctor said.
"I know...but just trust me..." I told him. I started whispering. "It's gonna be wired the first couple of days, but he'll grow fine...trust me."
"Alright, I'll ask the nurses to take it off." He said. "Excuse me." He walked out.
"Why?" I heard Scourge ask. I turned to hm. "Why did you have to ruin this? Don't you see the one person I actually love is in pain?" He asked.
"It's your fault, you lied to him." I told him. "Why don't you tell him the truth?" I asked him.
"Because...I promised I wouldn't hurt him. I love him... I don't know what made me fall for him." He said. "I don't want to know how long he'll sleep, I want him to wake up now. I'm...I'm in pain..." He said.
"It won't be long before he wakes...he's a vampire. He should be able to recover soon. Oh did he tell you about the vamp-" I told him.
"Yeah he did.... Hey...um..." He turned to me. "I-I'm sorry that I caused all of this. I love him, but I know it's not right...because you love him, you had him first. If you want to tell him when you wake up, though I doubt he'll believe you, you can." He said.
"Why don't you tell him?" I asked him.
"He'd just hate me, and I don't want that..."
"Hey, think of it this way... If you tell him the truth; he may be hurt, but he'll like the fact that your honest and careful." I told him.
"Thanks man, I guess we better let him rest." He said. "He needs it." We walked out. "You're not bad, not bad at all." He said. We walked out different ways. I walked out of the hospital, and everyone else came to me.
"Is he okay? Is he still alive?" They asked. I smiled at them, but the smile on my face faded.
"He's in a coma, the doctors don't know when he's going to get better or when he'll wake up." I told them.
They al let a sigh out. "At least he's okay. Where is Scourge?" Asked Knuckles. "I'm going to kick his ass, when I see him." He said.
"Hey he's probably gone somewhere since he knew you guys were here." I told them.
"Let get something to eat." Tails said.
We all headed to a stand to eat.
