Chan's life has been a mystery for seventeen. Everyone around him knew that there were specific topics that were off-limits. This was stated in Chan's contract, which had been requested by their parents. At times, Chan would disappear without a trace. The next day, their manager would inform them that Chan was gone and they were not to inquire about his whereabouts. They were expected to wait for Chan's return. However, when Chan did return, there were no explanations given.
Chan had always been the happiest one in the group, but there was always a dark cloud of emptiness that followed him everywhere, making his members worried about him.
The past few days of the concert have been a blast for everyone, especially the youngest member. He was full of energy all the time and didn't seem to tire, even after practicing for hours. This concerned their manager, who was the only one aware of Chan's condition. Chan's parents had asked the manager to keep a close eye on him if he showed any symptoms.
Throughout the concert days, the manager watched over Chan, who had been hyperactive. this was the point where he should have stopped Chan and confronted him but he assumed it was just the excitement of the concert and the rush of adrenaline, but he was mistaken. it was so much later he realized that he had been wrong all along.
After the last concert ended, everyone went out for dinner, but Chan stayed back at the dorm. He mentioned feeling tired, which was true, but there was something else bothering him. He could sense it deep within his bones. Once his bandmates left, Chan went to the bathroom to take a shower. As he stood there, feeling the warmth of the water, he felt the weight of sadness overpowering him.
"I shouldn't be feeling like this. I should be happy. What's wrong with me?" he thought as his body became increasingly lethargic. It was as if all the energy in his body was draining along with the water from the shower. He slowly made his way to bed, feeling completely drained. He didn't feel like moving, he just wanted to fall asleep and never wake up. As he lay his head on the pillow, tears began to fall from his eyes. He didn't know why he was crying. He felt pathetic and weak but still didn't want anyone around him. He curled up into a ball and cried until he had no tears left.
Chan lay in bed in complete darkness, staring into nothingness. Suddenly, he heard the voices of his members indicating their return. Despite this, Chan remained motionless, continuing to stare into the dark void. the door to the room opened, and a voice called out his name.
"Chan ah, are you asleep?" It was Jeonghan's voice. Though Chan heard it clearly, he lacked the energy to reply, so he remained silent. Jeonghan assumed that he was indeed asleep and left. Chan stayed fixed in his position, remaining in bed until his eyes grew heavy and he drifted off to sleep.
"Did anyone wake up Chan?" mingyu said flipping the omelette in the kitchen. most of the members were sitting at his kitchen table waiting for breakfast, others were still asleep.
"Let him sleep. He must be exhausted. After all, we don't have any practice scheduled for today." Seungcheol said pouring himself coffee beside Mingyu. mingyu hummed.
The entire day passed and Chan remained asleep. JeongHan checked on him, but the younger boy stayed in bed and didn't speak to anyone.
"Channie, wake up. You've slept the whole day," Wonwoo said as he walked into Chan's room, followed by Seungcheol.
"Go away," Chan mumbled, pulling up his blanket and curling himself into a small ball.
"What did you say?"Seungcheol playfully tugged at his blanket.
"Go away!" Chan yells startling both wonwoo and Seungcheol.
"What's wrong with you, Chan?" Wonwoo demanded, his voice filled with anger. Chan couldn't help but cry in response to Wonwoo's harsh tone.
