Chapter 4

                                  Alix's POV
After Malik was at school, I went home and waited for Jakob to pick me up. He brought me to nice restaurant. We started hanging out every day while our nephews were at school.

Melly showed up at my house at 5 in the fucking morning on a Saturday. She texted me to open the door and I quietly did that. We snuck up to my room.

"Has he asked you to be his girlfriend yet?"

"No. I don't think he will."

"But doesn't he take you to all these nice places?"

"Just because...he does that and whatnot...doesn't mean he'll ask me. He hasn't even kissed me yet."

"You should go for that. Make the first move."

"Oh no. He'll definitely run then."

We talked for a few more hours then she went home. Malik woke up and I started making him breakfast. I heard my sister laughing. I gave Malik his food then went to see her.

"You okay?"

"Yeah. I was just reading a text from Rico."

"Oh. Are you going to see him?"

"Yeah. Malik and his daughter wanna go to the park. You can come if you want."

"No it's fine. I don't wanna interrupt your date."

"Aw you're so sweet."

I didn't feel like bothering Melly, Jakob, or any of my cousins if they wanted to do something. I decided to just stay home and do nothing.

The next day...

Was my birthday.

Malik was at school.

Melly and Joyce were stuck at work.

Jakob was doing something with his brothers.

I was alone. My phone pinged and I picked it up.

Jakob: Hey birthday girl. Wanna open the door for me?

I opened the front door and saw Jakob. He was holding flowers.

"Woah. Are these for me?"

He nodded.

"Thank you!"

I found a vase and filled it with water. I put the flowers in and put the vase in my room.
