Y/N POV

//

Niragi and I had been at The Beach for 4 months, but in Borderland for 6. He had managed to get into the military here, and I had got onto the council. I guess it helped being one of the first ones here.
Except for the obvious death games, I don't mind being here. But I think it's affecting Niragi on some level. After a few months here, he started acting strangely, less and less empathetic. I think he's starting to enjoy killing people. I know murder is all part of living in this world, but I swear I can see a smile on his face every time he shoots a bullet into someone.
Maybe it's having the authority he has, being one of the few to actually be able to walk around with a gun.
At least being on the council I can keep a closer eye on him, be one of the first to know Hatter or Agunis next move.
It's still the same here though, Niragi doesn't like me talking to other men, infact it's probably worse than the real world.
I have 1 friend here, Kuina. Although on a few occasions she's brought her other friend along too, Chishiya. Luckily Niragi was out playing games to know I was ever near him. He's on the council too. I don't know much about him, he keeps himself to himself, and is always quiet around Kuina when I'm around. I can guarantee Niragi would try and murder him if I spoke to him anyway.

Luckily my visa has a week left on it at the moment, but Niragi is out playing another game, he plays a lot more than he should, he probably has months saved up.

I decided to make my way to the pool to find Kuina. At least I'm allowed to go here, all the men here know not to come within 10 feet of me.

As I begin to walk outside, I feel a shoulder bang into mine and almost fall backwards. A hand grabs my arm.

"Sorry about that" I hear a soft voice. I look up to see Chishiya looking back at me, we both look towards his hand on my arm, he quickly let's go.

"Maybe you should watch where you're going next time!" I yell, but he just rolls his eyes. "Do you want Niragi to find out you touched me?!" I could see a slight smirk on Chishiyas face. I don't want to be awful to Chishiya, but I would rather be feared than to fear. I'm pretty sure Chishiya sees through the charade anyway.

"Please don't tell on me, your Highness" Chishiya stares blankly at me, but still with a slight grin.

"Just don't let it happen again" I roll my eyes towards Chishiya as he walks away.

I think if circumstances were different, Chishiya would be a great companion to have here. From the games I've played with him I've found out how smart he is. The games just seem easy for him.

I see Kuina across the pool and make my way over to her.
"What was all that about?" She laughed, pointing towards where Chishiya and I had our previous encounter. "You sounded pissed, I could hear you shouting over the music" she carried on laughing.

"I just don't appreciate ignorant people" I shrugged.

"There's no way that was an accident. Either it was your fault, or Chishiya did that on purpose. Chishiya is the most observant and aware person I've ever met" Kuina had a point. Maybe he did do that on purpose, but what would he of been trying to achieve? Suddenly I realised what he had done,
I looked down towards my arm to make sure I was still wearing my watch Niragi had got me for our second anniversary. It was gone.

"That little bastard stole my watch!!" I stood up as fast as I could "where is his room?!" I questioned Kuina, who thought the whole situation was hilarious.

"What would he want with a smashed up watch? Are you sure he stole it?" She was still laughing, but maybe she was right. Why would he want a watch with a cracked face, and no longer worked? I just sat back down and frowned. It just seemed too coincidental.
"Do you want to go and find him before Niragi gets back? If Niragi notices the watch has gone, he's not gonna be happy, he'll probably kill everyone if he thinks someone stole from you" Kuina asked, she had a point again, and she knows as well as me how Niragi would react.
I just sighed, a missing watch or finding me with Chishiya.. Which would piss off Niragi more if he happened to come back?

"Let's just be quick" I replied, following Kuina to Chishiyas room.

As we got to his room, Kuina just walked in without knocking, to see Chishiya sat in a chair by his window.
"Hi Kuina, brought a friend?" He questioned, without even looking towards us. How did he know I was here?

"I'm here for my watch!" I answered, walking quickly towards him.

"Ive been expecting you, maybe not so soon though. It didn't take you long to notice it was gone" he replied "it must mean a lot to you" I could hear the smile behind his words. That stupid smile. He held up the watch without looking in my direction. I snatched it from him and began to walk away. "Not even a thank you?" He questioned.

"A thank you?! Why would I say tha-" I stopped myself as I looked towards my hand. The face of the watch was fixed. I stood puzzled for a few moments.

"What's so special about it anyway? I always see you checking it, knowing you'll never actually be able to see the time" Chishiya asked, now stood at the side of me.

I just took a deep breath. "If you must know, it was the first gift Niragi had ever given me" I gulped, thinking of a happier time before Niragi had started to turn crazy, well crazier. It made me actually realize how bad Niragi had actually got since coming to Borderland. Did Chishiya know it would make me feel like this? Surely not.

"Well, I'm glad I could be of assistance. I'll see you later at the council meeting." Chishiya stood next to the door waiting for us to leave.

"Thank you" I whispered towards Chishiya as I walked passed him, but he just shut the door behind Kuina and I.

"Well that was weird" Kuina said as we began making our way down the corridor.

"I know, right?" I responded looking just as confused as her "but how do I explain this to Niragi?" I looked down again towards the watch, in pristine condition.

"Did I just hear my name?" I heard a loud voice behind us.

Niragi quickly approached us, wrapping his arm around my shoulder, a crazed look in his eyes, no doubt from murdering more innocent people.

"I was just telling y/n how happy you'll be that I managed to fix her watch" Kuina quickly responded, taking the watch from me and handing it to Niragi. I quickly shot Kuina a "thank you" glance before Niragi could notice.

"Damn, it looks like new" Niragi responded handing me the watch back. "I'm going to wash this blood off me before the council meeting, care to join me?" Niragi raised his eye brows towards me.

"I best go" I smiled towards Kuina as she nodded "thank you again... For fixing my watch" I smirked at her and she rubbed my arm before walking away.

An hour or 2 passed before Niragi and I began making our way to the council meeting. He always makes sure one arm is wrapped around my waist and the other holding his gun against his shoulder. I don't like to admit it, but I do feel protected while I'm with him and I know I'll never be hurt while he's around.
As we walk into the council room, Chishiyas eyes go straight towards mine, luckily Niragi doesn't notice.

I sit next to Niragi, opposite Chishiya.

"Oh, you've fixed your watch?" Chishiya questions, smirking in my direction.

"What is it to you, dick?" Niragi butts in before I could speak. "Why don't you mind your own business?" Niragi spits towards Chishiya.

Chishiya just raises his eyebrows and shrugs towards me.

For the rest of the council meeting I can feel Chishiyas eyes burning into me. What is his problem? Niragi seems to be in a world of his own to even notice Chishiya. I quickly glance towards Chishiya and his eyes don't move from mine. I just frown at him and shrug to question what he wants. But still, his eyes are glued to mine, as if studying every inch of my face.

Suddenly his gaze is broken by Ann questioning where the next location could be for the games.

"I don't care where it is, I'll kill any dick that gets in the way of the cards!" Niragi laughs at his own comment.

I glance back towards Chishiya who just rolls his eyes.
The rest of the council meeting I kept sharing subtle glaces with Chishiya. The next time I get him alone I need to know what his issue is. I feel like he could be planning something and I need to know why I'm suddenly involved.
