Chapter title:
"Goodmorning Sassenach, I made ye some breakfast," Jamie wakes me up and I go to sit on the bed with my back against the wall. "That's smells delicious," he places the tray with eggs and coffee on my lap.
"Today, Mama will keep you company while I go and prepare the party," he announces while I take a sip. "I'm feeling fine, it wasn't anything serious,"
"Could've been, I'll no risk anything, eat and then enjoy yet day," he says and gives me a kiss on my forehead. "Fine, is everyone coming?" He nods. "Geillis, Louise, Mary, Joe and Gail, John, Rupert, Angus and Willie,"
"Good, if you don't mind I'll take one last nap now, just wake me up when your mother is here," I give him a kiss on his hand and lie back then when he takes the tray form my lap. "Sweet dreams Sassenach,"
An hour later I wake up again and put on some jeans and a shirt. I walk into the living room to see Jamie scrolling on his phone. "Hello darling," I whisper in his ear and he smiles. "Slept long enough?"
I climb on the couch resting my head on his shoulder. "Yes, I actually don't feel tired at all nor do I have a headache," he kisses my cheek softly. "That's good, I'm glad,"
We sits in silence for a few minutes, just carefully touching eachother, enjoying the company. When the doorbell rings Jamie stands up and opens the door. "Mama, come in," I stand up too and walk to Ellen.
"How are ye feeling today?" She asks giving me a gentle hug. "Good, I feel good. I slept good and I don't have a headache," she smiles and puts her coat away. "I'm glad yer feeling well,"
"So, do ye want to watch a movie and then go out for lunch? With maybe a walk afterwards?" She proposes and I nod. "That would be lovely, let me grab some money,"
I try to grab my wallet but Ellen stops me. "No dear, it's on me," I think for a second and Jamie nods at me. "Are you sure? I really don't mind," she smiles and nods. "Aye, I'm sure,"
"Alright well, I'll grab my jacket and my phone," I walk upstairs and put some things in my purse before going back down. Jamie is standing in the kitchen, writing down how to make some snacks.
"We'll go now, I'll see you later love," I tell him and he gives me a kiss. Short but passionately. "I'll see you later,"
Ellen and I get in Ellen's car and drive to the restaurant first, since it's already 11.30 am. "What would you like to eat?" The waitress asks and we both order a Caesar salad with some water.
"Are ye nervous for today?" Ellen asks and I shake my head. "Not really, I know that our family is happy about it and that matters most. My friends opinions matter too
of course but it's different,"She nods in agreement. "Aye, I understand lass," it's quiet for a moment before I speak up again. "Can I ask you a question?" She smiles and nods. "Always,"
"How did you know Brian was the one for you?" This question seems to worry her a bit. "Well, with him around I always feel safe, loved and like myself, why? Are ye no' sure ye want tae marry Jamie?"
I shake my head abruptly. "No! I want to marry Jamie more then I want anything.. it's just I don't know why?" She grins. "Why do you love him?"
"Because he's my best friend, he's always there when I need him, he always makes me feel loved and like I belong with him," I say without hesitation. "Reason enough," she smiles and I smile back.
"Does Jamie want children?" I ask her suddenly and she smiles even brighter. "Oh aye, he has always dreamed of a family. Do you want children?"
"Yes, I'd love too, but rather after we're married tho," I say just as the waitress comes to bring our food. We thank her and continue our conversation. "Why specifically after yer married?"
