Foolish of me to believe in motherly love. You never did and never will.

I woke up panting, I was covered in sweat and my face was wet and covered with dried tears and fresh ones rolling down my cheeks. I removed the tears and just ran to the shower to wash off this feeling.

I was uneasy, I glanced at my phone and I didn't imagine it. It was truly her. How'd she even get my number?

I'm just gonna ignore her and pretend it didn't happen. That I didn't straight up have a panic attack that sent me into an traumatic episode.

I went straight to my car just skipping breakfast as I really couldn't stomach even seeing food.

I knew Charlie was confused and maybe a tad worried about me. But right now I couldn't care enough about that.

Class passed by in a blur as my mind was elsewhere and before I could even comprehend,it was already noon.

Lunch time. I just sat at our table when suddenly Jessica nudged me. "Why is the Minho Lee staring at you?"

She asked and I turned my face shrugging as I didn't know myself. Our eyes met and he made hand signs gesturing me to come and sit with him at the empty table.

I didn't even think about it as I just stood up and walked over to him and sat in front of him.

"You look like shit." He commented.

"Well gee thanks I didn't know I did." I rolled my eyes.

"What's wrong?" He asked me.

My past, my life, my brain, you, me.

I let out a deranged sounding chuckle. "Don't dig into things you can't handle Minho."

His eyes bore into mine, there was sympathy in them. "I can handle it Jisung. So tell me if you'd like."

"My.. mother? Texted me." I let out confusing even myself.

He chuckled softly. "Why do you sound so confused? Isn't it a good thing?"

I immediately shook my head, dread following me. "No it's not. That woman may be my mother on paper but she never was."

He stayed quiet waiting for me to continue.

"She abandoned me years ago and now last night. She texted me, she found my number and she wants something." My voice was panicky as I tried to suppress the memories of her and the feelings that came with it.

I felt an ice cold hand on mine. It was Minho's, he was rubbing circles on my hand to try and calm me down.

"Sorry, I know I'm cold."

"It.. doesn't bother me, keep doing it." I whispered the last part "please."

He gave me a small smile and kept doing it.

"I can see this is a sore topic for you. But why do you think she wants something from you? Maybe she just wants to be in your life."

"No, that's not her. You only think that because you don't know the full story." He could see the terror in my eyes and he just nodded.

"So what's in Jacksonville?" He asked and I eyed him confused before I spoke up.

"A bookstore that also sells records and albums. Plus Jessica and Angela are going to go shopping for prom."

"But not you?"

I shook my head.

"So where are you going instead of prom?"

"Seattle."

"No way me too, maybe we could go together?" He asked and I just stared at him. A small smile played at my face before I replied"sure."

He smiled at me as his hand stayed on mine rubbing circles on it.

"You know I still expect answers Minho."

He sighed and looked away pulling back his hand.

"You know I can't give you those Han."

"Mm I know but doesn't mean I can't come up with my own theories."

"Oh prey tell."

"You're some kind of alien sent here to learn about humans."

He laughed at that. "I'm no alien."

"Second one, you are in a cult that sacrifices people and it gives you all these powers. You use your charms and good looks to find new sacrifices."

"You say it like it's the most normal thing ever."

I just shrugged. "What if that's true and you're my next sacrifice?"

I shrugged again.

"You should be afraid of me Jisung."

"Well I'm not. You may portrait yourself as this villain and dangerous being but you're not. You've had nothing but good intent towards me. Why would I be afraid of that?"

"What if I'm a monster? Someone that kills?"

"You aren't and even if you are. I don't fear death."

"Everyone says that." He looked to the side.

"But I actually mean it. You don't know what I've been through Minho."

"You're right I can't read you like at all and I'm usually pretty good at that."

I chuckled and flung my non existent long hair. "I'm special."

He looked at me with disgust before laughing causing me to laugh as well. His face was hilarious to be very honest.

"Minho."

"Oh Felix. What's up?"

The guy known as Felix looked at me before looking back at Minho.

They were talking with their eyes. "Right, sorry Jisung I have to go."

"Alright see ya."

He stood up and gave me a smile before walking away with Felix to their table where the rest followed them outside.
