On the day you wake up.

I heard the whir of the shower. I tossed and turned, but couldn't sleep. 6:30. My mum works too much I think. I drifted off with the thoughts of mine and Katie's texting last night.

A field with the sweet aroma of flowers invading my nostrils. Blue. Magenta. Navy. Every shade of blue you could imagine. Not a sound to be heard, and a lone willow tree to shield out the sun. We lay there. Me and Katie, no one else. My head next to her, each other upside down to the other.

"Katie."

"Niall"

"What's your favourite colour?"

She turned her head to face mine, I propped myself up on one elbow and she mimicked. Then our lips locked. Powerful yet gentle, empty yet meaningful, love and love enough. In between this human miracle, our lips parted slightly, and she raised them to my ear.

"Blue. Any shade of blue."

The whispers were so sweet, serene and love felt. And our lips met again.

"Niall, you could have at least cleaned up in here before making out in your dreams."

"NEAVE!!! I'm gonna kill you! That was our first kiss!"

"In yo dreams" she punched me mockingly.

I forgot I was having my friends over today, so I quickly got changed, showered, did my daily exercise routine (which never showed results, except on my abs). I had an unnatural tendency to walk around shirtless, and I'll admit, it is bragging slightly, and Neave was the only one there, so who cares!

About 10 minutes later, to my stupidity, me and Neave were watching TV, and I expected Eleanor. How about no. How about Katie. At my front door. And me shirtless. We both froze for what was a second/ a year, i don't really know.

"Hey, ummm... Give me a minute?"

Before she could say anything, I darted upstairs and shoved any old t-shirt on. I came downstairs and Katie was still outside.

"Hey, littlin' get in here, it's freezing"

"Ok."

Katie was very shy in person, which I found really cute, however, our conversations were short.

We all spent the day at my house, all 9 of us, watched movies, played games, me and Katie kept giving each other looks. And then I was reminded of the party.

"Hey, any of you guys going to Lauren's party tomorrow?

I got 8 simultaneous "no"s

"Aw, sucks!"

So, they came to go home, and Katie and I said our goodbyes, she gave me an extravagant smile, and was gone.

"Never walk around shirtless again when people come over, eh blondie?!"

Mentally noted. For now.
