I just came back from home, EXHAUSTED. I had to take the state exam and I had a hard time at math.
I drop onto my bed, on my phone with my friend.
" Hello."
"Hi lex, so how do you think you did on the state exam?"
" Horrible!"
" Don't say that Alexa."
" Jenis."
" JENIS!!! I'm sorry honey but that's what I hate the most.
My friend HATES it when I call her Jenis, she claims that it sounds like a boy's name but to me it sounds more like a beautiful name which belongs to a girl.
" So, what are our plans?"-" for you know summer." she said to me expecting me to take out a big sheet of paper with a list of words.
" I DON'T KNOW... perhaps, you have any plans."
"Well my mom said she would probably bring me to summer camp."
" WAIT WHAT."
" Yah."
" Oh God, my volleyball tryout is in like 10 minutes," it was funny seeing the panic -worry look on her face.
" Okay bye, Lexi," she says in a French accent even though she was from Bangladesh. " Bye Jen."
She makes a silly face at me then hangs up. I mean, how would I ever live without Jen in my life. While thinking that thought, I got up to go to the mirror, I look at myself, how I got B's and A's during the school years. I thought about how proud my parents were; I looked at myself. My dark-brown eyes were shining from the sun, My caramel blonde hair, which my mom let me dye. I looked at my nails that I got done the day before yesterday. I looked at my nose and had a few freckles. Then I looked behind me, there was the ring grandma gave me as a gift last Christmas, shimmering in the sun as well.
It's been sitting there for weeks now, since I last wore it.
If my grandma ever died I would wear it. But, let's hope she doesn't.
"Care for it from the bottom of your heart, it will be useful soon," she told me before I got hold of it.
~ from the bottom of my heart.~
*tell me if I should do more*
