School finishing earlier
You see normally most kids would loiter around the school after finishing an exam and others head straight home to revise for the next one . I was one of the latter of course .
On this particular day when we all had just finished a gruelling physics exam there was an influx of eager eyed kids sprinting towards the gates .
"This reminds me of all the year 7s running to the canteen at lunch " stated a wide eyed Coco
Our group was standing a distance away observing the whole of year 11 along with a few if the other years stampeding to the gate .
"Well if they're not sprinting for food then there's a -" Zahra started
"Fight" we all said in unison
"I bet its Rosewood high " said Tia "My brother better not be involved "
"Lets find out " announced Coco already striding ahead of us
"Hey. You know what the fights are like .Brutal ... and uh curiosity killed the cat " I said whilst having a hazy flashback of a bloody Adam
"You're speaking like a well natured war veteran , Safiya" said Zee
"Yeah its not like any of us are gonna get a right hook swung st us " agreed Coco
"Come on , what's the worse that can happen . Well if it happens to be my brother fighting I will throttle him and thats by far the worse that could happen "
"Let's go then " I sighed "But we're not sticking around we have maths tests to revise for "
Let's just say none of this ended well .
A plethora of jackets and Nike bags and flashing phones crowded the school street . Rosewood high kids and the girls from our school were screaming chants all of them fusing into eachother . Looks like the good for nothing teachers havnt got here yet
"Hold up. These are all the Rosewood year 11s .Oh God think Ty's probablyin the midst of this " shouted Tia in our ears already pulling us into the crowd .
As if we were all in sync our voices started screaming out Tyreece with Tia frantically screaming " Ty I'm gonna kill you "
You see if Ty was one of the kids throwing punches it wouldn't be the first but it would be the last. Like many of the boys specifically from Rosewood he didn't have the cleanest record and young offenders would be his next strike.
You hear about a fight escalating with the sound of a gun shot or the gasps and screams when someone pulled out a knife . It was always happening with the older crowd but it was never absent in the youths as well . And if Ty or any kid got themselves into that mess
None of us were on the tall side compared to the boys who seemed to have growth spurts on a daily basis so naturally we couldn't elbow our way through and no one parted for us like the red sea but Tia's voice boomed through the crowd much like a drill sergeant come to think of it .
"Oh good , its not Ty " Teeyah exclaimed in a much more cheery tone .
All of us were standing in almost the middle of the human ring where flying punches were being thrown which was not the most ideal place to be situated in .
BAM
Damn. That hurt like a ... your last words on this earth won't be swearing Saf
And just like a prophecy I was right . Things did not end well . But look on the bright side I bet I totally aced my exam .
"Oh my God Safiya ." - Tia's voice
"Safiya ! " - Zahra shrieking
"Let her live God ,atleast until she gets her mock results " - most likely Coco
"I swear to God I'll kill you man " -that voice sounds oddly familiar
Wait.Why is everyone mentioning God ? I've had far too many death defying experiences already.
