A/n: Hey y'all, sorry I haven't posted in a while (it's only been like 5 days but it feels like forever). Midterms suck 😣

Also: No spoilers but Dragon's Rising Season 1 Part 2 was amazing! I just wish there was more Cole and especially Jay.

Anyways. We're back! Enjoy :D

Using her powers to be invisible, Y/n ran down the factory hallways. She passed several normal machine-operated food makers, sending out pulses from her body to sense where the tunnels led, like echolocation or X-ray. She ran with determination, refusing to let fatigue stop her.

She slowed at a junction, hearing guards ahead. Walking quieter than a mouse, Y/n followed, needing to get to the tunnel right past them.

"They've ordered everyone after some Kabuki girl," the first guard scoffed.

Kabuki girl? Y/n thought with horror. Was Nya already discovered?

"What about the escaped factory worker?" The second asked worriedly.

"Forget him," the first replied confidently. "Chen will make sure the other workers pay for his actions."

The second guard sighed. "Poor saps."

Y/n turned down the side tunnel she needed and crashed into someone.

She staggered back with a yelp, holding her fists in front of her. The person she'd hit did the same, but quickly dropped it when he didn't see anyone.

"Hello?" Cole called. "Who's there?"

Next to him, Zane's eyes flashed. "I sense someone in front of us." He pointed at Y/n.

Y/n sighed and let herself become visible again. "Sorry," she muttered. "I wasn't looking."

"Y/n!" Cole and Zane cried at the same time.

Alarmed, Y/n looked down the tunnel where the guards had gone. "Shh!" She hissed. "Do you want to be caught?"

Cole brushed it aside. "I have back to the factory. We can't let the other workers suffer because I ran away." He also looked down the tunnel. "A Ninja doesn't save himself. He protects those who can't protect themselves. I have to go back and save them all."

Zane smiled and joined his comrade. "And a Ninja never leaves another Ninja's side."

Cole grinned. "We'll get off this island one day." He nodded to Y/n. "But it's either all of us, or none of us."

Y/n warmed at his words. It amazed her that both Cole and Zane turned back to help the others even if they could escape that instant. And neither Cole nor Zane forgot their promises to help her get off the island.

"I'm coming too," she announced. "I'm not going to sit on the sidelines while you all figure out a way to escape."

The trio headed back towards the factory. "Why are you here, Y/n?" Cole inquired. "Did you get eliminated? No wait, you used your powers."

Y/n shook her head. "I ran away. I couldn't deal with anything anymore. I met Nya in the woods and we made a deal."

"Nya?" Zane repeated. "She's here?"

"And looking for you," Y/n replied.

Zane fell silent, thinking.

"I have to stay hidden," Y/n said as they approached the factory doors, "but I'll be within earshot if you need me." At Cole's nod, she vanished. "I can also get you in without anyone seeing." She spread her powers to the Ninja, and they too disappeared.

The strain gave Y/n a headache worse than she'd ever had. She grunted and dropped to one knee, pressing a hand to her temple and gritting her teeth. But she couldn't give in now — not when everyone needed her to do this one thing.
