If you travel to the middle of Bangkok on a certain night long after most humans are asleep you will come to an area of road that is closed to traffic. There are signs set up on both ends saying road closed, construction ahead. If you were able to get past the signs, which you could only do if you had an invitation or was brought in with someone that had one, then you wouldn't find any sign of construction. You would find bright lights, a lot of fast motorcycles, and many people or monsters milling around and cheering on the racers.
This is the sight that Rain is looking around at with amazement. This is his first time being at one of these races, and he is trying to look everywhere at once. There are so many species of monsters Rain couldn't attempt to name them all if he tried. A lot of them haven't bothered taking human forms, and it gives the area an almost dreamlike feel to Rain to see shifters, and vampires, and monsters that don't look in the least bit human walking around. Only the werewolves have no choice about being human because the full moon has passed now and unlike shifters they can't change at will. There are also a few actual humans scattered among the crowd. Rain of course could have come because of his connection with the hotel, but being the head mechanic's boyfriend gives him even more status in the race than being the hotel owner. The other humans here are mostly mates or companions of the monsters in attendance. It is impossible for a human to enter without being escorted by a monster, with Rain being the only exception. Like the hotel this area is warded against humans.
P'Pai is there looking handsome and cool in his expensive racing jacket. Although not as handsome and cool as P'Phayu looks in his mechanic coveralls, Rain is quick to think. Rain suppresses a giggle as P'Pai buries his face in Sky's neck, claiming he needs energy to win the next race. Sky pushes him away when he sees Rain looking at them, but not before Rain sees the soft smile that spreads across his friend's face. Something has obviously happened between those two.
Rain gasps as two strong arms wrap around him from behind. He leans back knowing that this is his P'Phayu just from the feel. "Come," P'Phayu says, "I will introduce you to my brother and some of my friends."
P'Saifah isn't at all what Rain would have expected from a half incubus. He is so very, well, human. He doesn't exude the natural and easy sexuality that P'Phayu does at all. There are some similarities to their looks but not enough that Rain would have realized they were brothers at all.
P'Fah must read the question in his eyes because he says, "Although we share parents, Yu takes more after our father, and I am more like our mother. I guess it's part of being fraternal twins."
"Or maybe it's the dangers of being in a long-term relationship," P'Phayu teases. "I hope I don't become boring like you over time."
"You will never be as cool as me," P'Fah teases right back.
Rain smiles at the two of them, it's obvious they are brothers, they act like him and Sky.
Next P'Phayu introduces him to some of his friends. P'Aek and P'Tho, the twin imps are silly and funny. Rain can't help but to laugh at their antics.
He also gets to meet the pit bunnies, a group a male and female sirens scantily dressed. They all fawn over Rain, offering to dress him up, and soon P'Phayu pulls him away from them with a humph.
"Jealous?" Rain asks in surprise. None of the sirens, as beautiful as they are, holds a candle to P'Phayu.
"Furiously jealous." P'Phayu answers. Rain is torn between smiling and pouting at this. His boyfriend is just too cute.
"I need to get to work," P'Phayu says, "Do you want to stay with Sky and watch the races or come watch me work?"
Rain considers, he would like to see P'Pai race at least. "I want to watch the races for a little bit. Can I? I will come find you later."
