Prolouge

Poker face.

That was the expression the 14-year-old girl made during lunchtime at Leory High.

Before going to class, she treated herself to a nice sip in the water fountain.

That's when he arrived.

The girl felt his presence immediately, despite her mind being in another world. She was already shaken up; this had been a very emotional harrowing day for her. So was the boy. He looked like he ran a marathon and saw a ghost at the same time. He was panting heavily, sweat twinkling down his forehead. Soon he recollected himself. The girl anticipated.

He spoke.

"Did you squeal?"
"Maybe I have, maybe I haven't."
"If I go down, you're going down with me."
"All I did was tell them what they need to know."
"Better watch yourself. Because if I find you did let the cat out of the bag, I'll tell everyone -"
"You won't!" the girl interrupted hastily.
Her expression switched from impudent to genuine fear, something Garath wanted out of her; to blackmail.
"Try me."
"Alright." She eventually said, sighing.
"There's a good little girl. Now run along."

The girl did just that and made sure she was out of his sight.

Never had she felt more trapped in her life. She didn't know what else to do. She already got outside help before and it only seemed to make it worse. She couldn't report it either. She was in some really deep water, especially since it was only a matter of time before he found out she was lying. And unless she thought of something quick, she might as well move.

She had an idea. It was so crazy, it just might work. She was alone. The hallways were desolate and quiet. For now.

She looked at the CCTV cameras before making her big decision.

It was risky, but it was the only way she was able to buy herself more time, and properly think about what to do, unbeknownst that what she did would end up being so big in scale, that it would make what she was originally going to do later blow out of the water, making room to an entirely new problem.
