It was like being in perpetual slow motion. A freeze frame.
It was the most ballsiest and idiotic thing he had done. But based on his tumultuous track record of catching this crook, he had no other choice.
But what constitutes efficiency and lunacy is up for debate. In best case scenario he'll never see it again. And that's not inherently a bad thing. But because Travis feels to need to redeem himself and prove his worth, he can't afford it. Not when he's this close. It'll be the first time he'll let something like this slip through the cracks. And he'll never be able to forgive himself.
He knew signing up to be a police officer had its risks. Every decision you make - good or bad - could cost you negativity. Some would send you six feet under. Because every action reacts.
And it seems like Travis is going to learn that first-hand.The man was airborne for a couple of seconds, before nose-diving like a nuke.
He would have died if it wasn't for the Bell B30E Used Dump Truck gracing him. He slid off the ramp of the yellow monster vehicle and onto the motorway.
He revved his engine and tightened his grip on the handle, almost as if he were strangling it. With a gust of wind, he was off, the bike thundering down various lanes of traffic, zigzagging. When he got closer to his target, he cocked out his gun and aimed for the rapidly turning wheels. But the driver anticipated this and threw on the brakes, the car abruptly reversing in his direction. And that's not all. It seems like the BMW had a few tricks up its sleeve like it was a robot or special gadget; it was not what it seemed at all. And, to Travis's surprise, the roof transformed. Soon, like a tank, a machine gun emerged, its long pointy nasal being as long as a Didgeridoo. It started at him as if mocking him before beginning the ambush. It looked like it came straight out of a spy flick.
At once it fired and Traivs swerved out of the way, its horde of bullets penetrating the tarmac. It pelted excessively with a high screeching sound, like hail, and had pinpoint accuracy, going after the confused cop.
The only thing saving him was other drivers acting as shields, protecting him, in exchange for hearing the hideous cry between the metal hitting against metal. Soon, a pile-up was made. And Travis had to make it through the smokey atmosphere of plummeting cars and crushed ones. He could sirens in the distance, even louder than his. It was defeating. An abandoned totalled truck lay across the road, taking up the whole thing like it was a wounded elephant.Travis had to use the bike to skid under it so he wouldn't get it while simultaneously not wanting to kill momentum by slowing down. Sparks went flying and when he shot out from the other side, he pressed a button and a grabbing hook came out. It attached itself to the back of the car right when the perp ran out of ammo.
"Two can play that game," Travis sneered. They were a mile away from each other. The hook was so thin you could tiperope it. Travis could just switch off the engine and could cruise like this. All he had to do was keep balance. But instead, he hovered his index finger on a button marked "Shocked."
He was about to override the perp's car when it abruptly drifted to the right, sending Travis and the bike flying.
The rope snapped and did a 360. He was fast, couldn't stop and out of control. So this was what a tornado felt like!
Travis felt like he was going to hurl, smoke slivering to the sky. Then he hit the barrier. The crash was magnificently
tremendous. When the dust settled, he slumped. He briefly pondered the past events before falling unconscious. Was the BMW remote-controlled or powered by AI? After all, he couldn't see the driver through the thick back glass.
Somehow, he doubted it. It also only meant one thing: Travis failed. For the first time, he failed. And he was out cold way before he knew it. The last emotion he felt was a sense of dreadful defeat. He didn't like the feeling at all.
