Three days have passed since rescuing Rosalie and Eri from Overhaul. While Izuku was helping train Melissa alongside All Might and Gran Torino Momo was helping Inko buy clothes for the two girls. Inko and Momo have gotten along really well, and Momo has enjoyed learning more about the Midoriya mother and son.

We join the pair as they sit down for lunch at the food court. Momo had to admit the little woman was not only incredibly kind and selfless as Izuku was but also incredibly intelligent. Which further reminded her of the way Izuku is. She smiled to Inko as she realized that in the short time she's been adopted by Inko, she's truly treated her as if she was her own. Neither Midoriya has treated her like a victim or like she is made of glass. But she did want to know something about Izuku that she's wondered since day one of school.

"I do have a question, Inko. Something that's been on my mind since I first met Izuku. Why does he mutter so much? Well, I guess it should be why he used to mutter so much?" Inko nods her head as she wipes her lips and takes a breath. "Momo. When Izu was really little, we learned he had a lot of things in his mind and wanted to know many things. As a boy, he was very outgoing and extroverted. He wanted to know everything about someone, especially their quirks. But when we learned he was quirkless, I made a mistake. See the day we learned I didn't know what to do as I wanted to help my little boy but I did not know what to say. I was quiet the whole drive home. He went nearly catatonic as his eyes were filled with tears. That night, he asked me a question. What do you think he asked?" Inko said quietly as she replayed that night in her mind.

Momo thought for a moment, trying to guess before she found the answer. "He wanted to know if he could a hero.....even without a quirk." She said softly. Inko nodded as tears formed in her eyes. "Yes, Momo. Yes, he did. However, I was so afraid and distraught at the idea of him fighting villains without a quirk to aid him. I stupidly apologized to him as we both cried. I wanted my son to fulfill his dream. I really did, so I was not going to say no....but I also didn't say yes. I apologized for failing to give him a quirk to achieve his dream. Shortly after that night, the abuse at the hands of his classmates, teachers, and others all began. He buried deep within himself and began to stutter and grow so timid and shy. I was unaware of the abuse, but I really should have known. Regardless of how well he hid it all. But I noticed a few years later that he would start talking to himself. My guess was he needed a way to get his thoughts out as well as figure out things. I know others found it odd, but I always found it kind of adorable. To my chagrin, it was a sign that he was scared to speak loud and clear. Afraid to draw attention to himself for fear, he'd get beaten simply for daring to be noticeable." Momo was stunned to hear that. Both the regret Inko had for in her mind, failing her son as well as hearing the real cause for his muttering.

"I see. But, since the new powers appeared, he has changed ever so much. He is not timid as he was, but he still will blush and occasionally mutter around girls. Hehe." Momo said with a chuckle. Inko laughed hard at that. The two carried on as they ate their lunch. However, as they were eating, they heard a commotion coming from the entrance to the mall. As they looked, the duo saw masked gunmen began rushing in firing at the civilians. Inko screamed as bullets whizzed between the pair. Momo on reflex activated her quirk and produced a shield bug enough to cover them as she tackled Inko to the floor.

"Momo!! What's going on!?" Asked the panicked mother. Momo grunted as she held the shield in place as best she could. "We need to get out of here. They're firing at random. Meaning they're just trying to cause panic and kill as many as possible. Inko, can you move?" Momo spoke while breathing heavy. Inko nodded as she looked into her eyes. "When I stand up, stay behind me and follow me." Momo said as Inko looked more fearful. Inko nodded, and the two began to get up.

As they did, Momo created two things and handed one to Inko as she threw the other. When Inko looked, it was a small screen. The thing she threw was a drone that had a camera on it. Momo started moving with Inko right behind. Until Momo saw something that horrified her. Not far from them was a young mother holding an infant as she hid behind a column. She looked to the screen and then Inko. "We need to help them." She said as bullets bounced off her shield. Inko looked, and her eyes went wide. She nodded as they made their way to the column. Yet as soon as they got there, the young mother went from looking afraid to purely psychotic as her skin began to melt off, revealing a horrifying figure Momo knew too well.
