Chapter one: Thanks, Dora.
"What do you mean no? Are you insane!?" Brittany yelled in my ear. She had been going on, and on, about this guy Kent in our grade. She's been staring at him, ever since we entered the lunch room, and even had a little drool. Im not even joking. She's drooling. This is getting creepy.
"Wipe your mouth before you look like a freak!" I whispered to her, harshly. Im sick of hearing "Kent this." And "Kent that." He's nothing special. He's just another Jock. Another guy that plays girls, and says pick up lines straight from the Internet. Believe me. I wasn't interested.
Brittany quickly ducked her head and wiped around her mouth with the back of her sleeve, grimacing when she saw she was, infact drooling. When she looked up at me she sighed in frustration. "I still don't understand. He's perfect." She said. "How do you not love him?" I picked up a French fry, and popped it in my mouth.
"Because Im normal, you freak of nature. I don't obsess over an average good-looking guy. He's nothing special." I shrugged and looked away from her shocked face. Why was every girl obsessed with him? What made him special? Honestly, I thought his friend Gale was cute.
I've talked to Gale before, and he's very sweet. But every time Kent came over, I would quickly dismiss myself.
Kent Foster literally had girls surround him. He acted like he was too good for them, by barely acknowledging their presence. That's why I hated him. He was just another player who didn't care about girl's hearts.
"You're not normal! Kent is gorgeous!" She cried as I rolled my eyes. I looked over at his table, and my eyes connected with Gale's. he grinned and stood up, before making his way over to where we sat.
"Hey Allie!" He said, his tone full of cheer. A smile formed on my face, just because he was around.
"Hey Gale." I said, shyly. He sat down in front of me, and looked over at Brittany with a sheepish grin.
"You don't mind if I steal Allie for a while, do you?" Brittany's whole expression brightened as she picked up her stuff.
"Go ahead! I was about to head to the library anyway! You two kids have fun! I'll call you!.. or.. Ill just see you later. Yeah. See ya Allie!" Before I could say anything she dashed off leaving me and an amused Gale.
"Well.. That was something... But let's go!" He got up and helped me with my backpack. "I want you to meet my friends!" It was almost impossible to say no to this blond, blue-eyed, boy. He was adorable. I grinned and nodded.
"Okay." I picked up my tray, and threw my stuff away, before walking over to where he was. He guided us to where his friends were, and I almost regretted saying yes to him, when I saw Kent.
"Hey guys!" Gale said. "This is my friend Allie!" He was bouncing around like a kid, and I smiled softly at him. How he had so much happiness, I have no clue. "Here, sit next to me." He said pulling over a chair.
"Thanks." I said softly, feeling insecure about being at the famous "popular table".
"So Allie, this is David, Sammy, Luke, Grey, Amy, Lilly, and my best, most smartest, most dashing buddy in the entire wo-" gale was cut off my a deep chuckle from Kent.
"Gale, you know I love you man, but how much sugar did you have today?" Gale pouted cutely, and I grinned at him.
"Dude... Not when I have a girl here!" He whined. I giggled at this, which made him grin triumphantly, puffing out his chest. "And I have succeeded in making you laugh. My work here, is done."
"Okay, bro. Im seriously worried here. Did you take your medicine this morning?" Gale playfully narrowed his eyes at an amused Kent.
"Shouldn't I be saying that to YOU!?" He retorted. Suddenly it got silent at the table and his face fell. "Shit, I didn't mean it Kent..." I was beyond confused. I looked over at Kent to see him sending an amused glance at Gale.
