This story is based on something me and my (ex) gf did.

The phone was ringing at the Byers house.
Will slipped out of his room and picked up the landline phone. "Hello?" He said into the phone speaker.

"Hey will! Do you wanna meet up at the park?" Mikes voice rang through the other side of the line. "Yeah of course." Will smiled, before he heard the dial tone.

Will slipped his shoes on and called to his mom he was leaving the house. He stepped out the door and started to walk over to the Hawkins park.

It was a cold and mucky day, most people weren't out. It had rained the day before, and it was foggy outside.

"Hey!" Mike yelled, waving at will. Will smiled, waving over at him.

Will hugged mike, kissing him. "Come on!" Mike said, grabbing wills hand and dragging him down to a trail.

It was September, and the summer recently they had a special spot where they would make out. And Mike was leading them to that spot.

Will was excited, cause he really missed mikes kisses. And they weren't able to kiss at school.

Once they reached the picnic table, they sat down. Will leaned in, kissing Mike. Mike pulled away quick, smiling at will. Did Mike not want to kiss him? Will tried again, it was the same. Will awkward sat there, looking away from Mike.

Mike seemed to be doing something else, almost like he just wanted to company or something. But they always made out, wills didn't understand what changed. "Hey, let's go back up and walk around." Mike said, grabbing wills hand.

"Okay." Will said. Mike pulled will up before dropping his hand. Will walked behind mike. Mike was walking faster, leaving will behind. Will could feel his eyes getting blurry and his throat closing up, but he swallowed down those feelings and tried to catch up to Mike.

Mike grabbed wills arm, holding onto it like an old married couple. Will kinda cringed at it, but let him do it.

They circled the park, sitting down at a ledge.
They were silent, and will sat holding his tears. While they were walking, will was filling his brain
With all types of reasons why Mike didn't like him.

"I thought you were gonna dye your hair?" Mike said, looking at will. "Yeah, I was but my mom said no." Will said with a serious tone.

The reason wills did it was because he didn't want Mike to know he was about to cry.

"Oh okay." Mike said, looking away.
Will looked at Mike, seeing his eyes go glassy.
"Hey, hey what's wrong?" Will asked, hugging Mike.

"You hate me." Mike said. "What that's not true." Will said, again with the serious tone. "Yeah it is, max told me."

"Max is a fucking idiot." Will didn't like saying that about his best friend, but she probably did say that my accident.

"You think I'm annoying." Mike said, curling up into a ball. "That's so not true." Will said, hugging Mike again.

There was a minute or two of silence. "Do you want to go under the bridge?" Mike asked, getting up.

"Y-yeah." Will said, he was about to burst into tears. Mike got up, and will followed. Again, Mike left will behind, as will started to cry.

Will sniffled his tears away, as they went to the river. Mike had stopped, and waited for will. They started to go down, and Mike held out his hand for will.

"I can't do this." Will said, and then started to walk out. Will started to breath heavily, trying to get home.

Mikes cold hand grabbed wills wrist, and will looked away from Mike.

"Will! What's wrong? I'm sorry!" Mike said, trying to get will do face him.

Will turned his head, avoiding eye contact with Mike.

"All I do, is fuck everything up. I just keep making you mad or upset and it's like you don't even wanna kiss me anymore. And you think I'm mad at you." Will rambled, crying.

"Hey, your doing great. It's okay, it's just my dumb brain." Mike said.

"Do you promise?" Will asked.

"Yes, I promise." Mike said, hugging will.

In the perfect fanfic word, Mike and will stay together and everything is great. But in the real world, after I tried to commit my gf left me! After this happened I tried to commit a week later and then she hung out with her ex because I didn't respond to her and then I broke up with her cause she obviously wasn't interested in me :P
