Don't Break me, Please

Chapter 1

ARIA POV

It was Monday morning as my alarm clock went off at 5am. I groaned because I wasn't ready to get out of bed. But I needed to get ready as I had an interview with a big company at 9. I also wanted to stop by Mary's Bakery and get my favorite caramel iced chai latte.

As I was waiting for my coffee, the bakery door opened and I turned my head to glance up and see a tall handsome man dressed in a navy blue suit. He was so gorgeous, like the most handsome man I'd ever met. With his bright green eyes that had me mesmerized in a trance until he looked up from his phone and saw me. As soon as he locked eyes with me, it was like he was stuck in the same trance as me. I didn't know how long we were staring at each other until I diverted my attention to the cashier who told me my coffee was ready. As I was getting ready to pay for my coffee, the handsome man walked up beside me and offered to pay.

"Uhh.. Hey I got it, '' he said. "N-No it's okay, I-I can pay for my o-own coffee" I said shyly, quickly giving the cashier the cash, grabbing my coffee and walking out the door. I remembered that I had an interview to get to, checking the time I had only 15 minutes to get to A&S Focus. I rush to my car and head towards A&S Focus.

I pulled up to the company building around 8:40am, taking in the sights in front of me. A tall beautiful building with the letters A&S written on it.

I wonder what A&S stands for.

I walk into the building as confidently as I can and see the receptionist desk. "Hi, I am here for an interview with Mr. Henderson at 9am." I said with a small smile. The receptionist was kind enough to tell me " Hi, yes you can head up to the 37th floor there will be someone to help you"

I head towards the elevator and as I was about to push the button, I hear someone say "hold that please" I look up to see the same handsome man from the bakery. I immediately freeze as I see him walking into the elevator smiling at me.

When he walks in he says "Hello again, big day?"

I glance up at him to see him gazing at me and I quickly look down shyly responding "Y-Yeah, I-I have an interview for PA to the CEO, u-hh do y-you work h-here?"

He deeply chuckles, making this my new favorite sound.

Why am I so attracted to this man?

A moment later he responds with a yes, something of that sort.

I wonder what he meant by that, nevermind that I got more pressing matters at hand, such as my interview. I'm really nervous.

We finally reach the 37th floor and we both step out going our separate ways, but not before the mysterious man says to me "See you around, princess."

My eyes widen and I blush almost instantly.

I walk up to the desk with a lady sitting there typing on her computer. She doesn't notice me so I clear my throat. She finally looks up at me "Hi what can I do for you?" I respond shyly, "Hi I am here for an interview with Mr. Henderson at 9am."

She asks for my name and searches for it on her computer and then looks back up at me and hands me a temporary name tag. Then about 10 minutes later, the lady comes back and says

"Ms. Goodman, Mr Henderson is ready for you." She says, leading me to the office at the end of the hallway

"He is just inside, knock and wait for him to tell you to come in, Good luck!"

I nod and take a deep breath before knocking. I hear a deep come in and walk in to see a man with his chair turned facing the window.

"U-uh Good Morning sir I am here for the interview for PA".

He then spins his chair around only to find me with wide eyes and a mouth open. As I recognize, he is the same man from the bakery and elevator.

Oh my God, he is the CEO.

"Ahh, yes I do recall hearing you say that on our elevator ride together."

Focus Aria

I quickly fix my composure and sit down in the chair across from him, nodding shyly waiting for him to continue.

"So Miss Goodman, tell me what makes you think you have what it takes for this job?"

I take a moment before I respond.

"Well I have a bachelor's in business and have a lot of experience in organizing and working under pressure"

He only nods, taking a moment to think to himself

I really hope I get this job.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice that Mr. Henderson was calling me. "Ms. Goodman, are you there?"

"U-uh yes I'm here sorry just a little lost in my thoughts."

He softly smiles "That's alright, I was just saying that I would like to inform you that you got the job. You start work tomorrow, be here by 9am so I can go over everything with you."

I immediately looked into his eyes. Wait, what!?! I got the job. That's amazing. "Thank you so much sir, I look forward to working with you"

"As do I, Ms. Goodman" I get up and shake his hand before getting out of the chair and walking towards the door, pulling the handle.

"Wait" He says standing up, making slow strides towards me.

Rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

"I- uh just wanted to... let you know that I look forward to working with you"

I blush looking down and finally walk out of his office.
