Things can only get better: Taekook short story

Part 15

After the sushi lunch with all their friends, getting teased non-stop as Jungkook still had to help Tae walk, and making him sit on his lap, talk turned to the holiday season. Many of their parents were all over the world, so usually they spent Christmas time together. This year, with 5 extra friends, Tae and the 4 Wooga's, they decided to go on a skiing holiday, where there are large wooden cabins and more than enough space for everyone. Hobi also announced that he will bring a partner, but did not say who, it will be a surprise, but he assured everyone that the person will get on well with them all, no worries.

So, towards the end of the year, work pace increased to meet all deadlines before closing for December holidays. Tae and Jungkook tried to make time for each other, but everybody was pulling long hours. After 4 weeks of craziness, the company xmas party on the Thursday evening. The company closed the Friday at 10h00.

As usual, the party was a huge success, with lucky draws, games and fun, great food and a message by the CEO, thanking everyone for the hard work. This year the contract workers joined as well as they were part of the company for the time being. Wooshik could not stop praising the company and the CEO, he never thought that it could be like this working for an employer. Jungkook, having heard about his good work, told him that if he wants to stay on after his contract ends, they can definitely talk about it. Wooshik was shocked, wow, Jungkook thinks he is good. Something to think about for sure.

The whole night, Jungkook was hugging Tae, holding his hand, kissing him, nuzzling his neck. The other employees just smiled, seeing the big boss so whipped, it made them happy. Well, a happy boss makes a happy employee they always say. And who could not like the silver haired beauty, with his wide smile and soft words, his amazing talent and supportive ways towards everyone, no matter the position in the company. The same respect for managers and janitors, office workers and restaurant dish washer.

The Saturday morning they were all ready to leave in 4 SUV's, Jungkook, Tae, Jin and Namjoon in one, the Woogas in one, Yoongi, Jimin, Hobi, and to everyone's surprise, Soobin, as Hobi's date in one. The 4 guards in the last one. Taekook said goodbye to Mrs Park who would visit her daughter over the holidays. Then they were on their way. Driving was not too bad as the snow was not too bad, but the road became more difficult the closer they got to the mountains and the resort. Arriving safely, they were met by the Kang couple, who would be like housekeepers during this time. Just to help should the need arrive. But Jungkook told everyone they were all adults, and everyone will help. They will take turns on cooking, dishes, laundry, cleanup etc.

They all went to their rooms to unpack, deciding to meet at the fire pit around 6pm. Jungkook pulled Taehyung into his arms, laying down on the soft bed. He covered them with a light blanket, because the room was not cold with a fire burning in the fireplace. They fell asleep in each other's arms.

Making sure Tae is dressed warmly enough, Jungkook took his hand and they left for the deck at the back of the house, where a big fire was burning and everyone else were already seated around the fire. Snacks were on the table and some red wine, beer and juices. They enjoyed the evening talking, laughing, joking around. The 4 guards were also seated around the fire, although they just drank juice.

It was quite late when everyone called it a night, getting rest to go skiing the next day. Tae, Peakboy and Soobin were the most excited, as they have never gone skiing before.

Breakfast was a very loud affair, excitement turning the volume buttons to maximum, but soon they were off in the vehicles. They arrived and got ready. Two of the guards will remain around Tae and Jungkook, one with Yoongi's group and one with the Wooga squad. Jungkook was not expecting trouble, but the last accident showed Minho was not scared of taking chances, so Jungkook will not take any.

For Tae skiing for the first time was amazing, he actually got the hang of it quickly, slowly descending the slight slope, steering with the poles. Not fast, he was not that brave, but he won Soobin and Peakboy on their first "race". Jungkook took him to the tougher slope, holding his hand all the way up. Then they started going down, Jungkook keeping his eye on Tae all the way, Chan the bodyguard keeping other skiers away with just a look. After falling on his butt twice, Tae finally mastered the tougher downhill and picked up speed, he was laughing out loud as he went faster, keeping up with Jungkook, who actually was breaking the whole time, but he would never tell his baby. Seeing the excitement on his face was the best gift ever.

Tae finally had to sit down; he was so tired. Peakboy, Seojoon, Hung shik, Soobin, Jin, Joon and Jimin all sat with him at the tabled of the restaurant. He didn't know where Yoongi and Hobi were, maybe also on the way up. He watched Jungkook and Wooshik going up with the lift to a very high slope, small ants of fear running around in his tummy. Not many people were coming down that slope, it was the extreme slope, only professionals were allowed. "Tae, come stand here, you can look at the decent through the binoculars" Jimin called him. Tae stood up and stood behind the mounted binoculars so he could watch the decent. Jimin meanwhile took out his video camera, documenting the event. After almost half an hour, he saw Jungkook's black ski suit and Wooshik's red one. They were the only ones on this slope. Maybe other people were too scared, Tae thought. And off they went, Wooshik going first, Jungkook giving him enough space first, before following. Tae thought Wooshik was very good, until he saw Jungkook, speeding down the snow, jumping over ramps, body looking like an ice skater while manoeuvring round a few trees. The speed was frightening. Tae clutched his hear at the speed at which Jungkook went, he has passed Wooshik a while back already, going like a missile down the slope. Tae saw a huge snow ramp coming up, he clutched his hands to his heart. Jungkook will not do that will he? He saw two figures standing next to the ramp, lifting something, a banner, into the air. But his attention was on one person in black, barrelling down the slope. And then he saw Jungkook aiming for the ramp, hitting it at full speed, flipping backwards twice before landing on his skis again, where Yoongi and Hobi was holding up a banner that read ......Kim Taehyung, will you marry me? Taehyung's frightened squeak and the huge gasp as he read the banner amused Chan, he has seen Jungkook ski before and knew that for Jungkook this was child's play. Tae ran down the wooden step, Chan right behind him as Jungkook came to a stop in front of his baby. Tae had tears in his eyes, hitting Jungkook's chest before jumping onto him, wrapping his arms around the black-haired man. "You scared the shit out of me...and yes! Yes, I will marry you Jeon Jungkook!" Cheers and whistles accompanied the kiss between the two. Finally putting Tae on his feet, Jungkook pulled a small box out of his pocket, opening it. Inside was a sapphire ring, surrounded by diamonds, set in white gold. He pulled the ring out and slipped it on Taehyung's ring finger after taking off his glove. "When I saw this ring, I immediately though of your beautiful eyes, the diamonds like sparkles when you laugh. I love you Taehyung, with all my heart" Tae pulled him up and kissed him, trying to put all the words and emotions in that kiss.
