"Link Start!" The nerve gear activated as it confirmed all the correct systems were online, Hearing, Seeing, Tasting, Feeling. My account register screen appeared as the system auto filled in my username and password. "Username: K, Password 76801958" Shortly after my account data was loaded I was in the game. Sword Art Online, the biggest MMORPG in the world. Though I of course was in the beta test, so I know the ins and outs of this game pretty well. I sped through the Town Of Beginnings towards the field just outside to start farming for exp. While in the fields I came across two other players, two guys, one with jet black hair and the other with fiery red hair.
They spotted me as the red head killed a boar and got unusually excited, probably thinking it was stronger than it was, though the black haired man seems to have told him since his excitement turned to disappointment quickly. 'Probably a beta tester.' I thought, making a mental note of the young man with black hair.
Hours passed as I grinded exp quickly reaching level 6. I was just about to make my way to the next town when the bell in the Town of Beginnings rang across the field, I checked the time to see it was already 5:30 in the evening and began thinking about logging off for the day until suddenly I was tp'd back to the center of the town. The sky was covered in warning labels as people began to panic slightly, some more annoyed than anything. The warning signs began to bleed as a large figure formed in the sky "Attention Players. I Welcome you, to My World. My name is Akihito Kayaba, and as of this moment...I am in control of this world." 'What the fuck does he mean by that?' "I'm sure some of you have already noticed an item missing from your mainmenu. The logout button." I quickly opened my menu to check and it's just as he said, it's gone. "I assure you this is not a defect in the game, I repeat this is not a defect. This is how Sword Art Online was designed to be."
'Holy shit.' "You can not log out of SAO, and no one from the outside world will be able to remove the nerve gear from your head. If anyone attempts to do so, a transmitter inside the Nerve Gear will send a microwave signal into your skull, destroying your brain and ending your life. Despite my warning, family and friends of some of the players. Have attempted removing the nerve gear ending people's lives. As of right now about 200 players have already died. Everyone in the outside world already knows of this. I hope that brings you some comfort as you try to clear the game. I wish you all luck in clearing the 100 floors of Aincrad." He finished his speech and dissipated into the air. I quickly sped out of the Town of Beginnings and made my way to the next town.
2 months have passed since the start of SAO. Around 2 thousand people have died and we have yet to find the boss room in the dungeon of the first floor. Today we are having a meeting to discuss where the boss might be. I made my way to the central colosseum of Tolbana, when I arrived I saw a large group of people already waiting for the meeting to start. A few minutes passed and a guy around my age walked in behind me, he had jet black hair and a singular sword on his back, no shield in sight. "Excuse me." He said shuffling past me going to sit alone in an open space of the seats near where I was, after watching the guy for a minute or two a young man with blue hair and blue knight armor walked out onto center stage "Hello everyone! My name is Diavel and the job I rolled is Knight!" He said, causing pretty much everyone to burst out in laughter "Dude there's no job system in this game!" Someone said through their laughter "Do you guys wanna hear this or not!?" Diavel yelled, causing everyone to shut up.
"We found the boss room." Everyone gasped as he continued "The search party we sent out found it at the top floor of the dungeon. This meeting is for everyone who wishes to fight the boss and help us!" "Wait a damn minute." Another man yelled, jumping down to Diavels level. "There's something we all need to talk about." Everyone looked at him confused. "Some of you need to step up and give up all of your gear and items." "You mean the ex-beta testers don't you?" Diavel assumed causing the man we now know as Kibao to nod "Yeah, over 2 thousand people have died already and it's all their fault! They took all the easy quests and all the best farming spots to level quickly so everyone else was left to die!" "Hold on." Another man said, this man was large, very large, dark skinned and bald with a large ax on his back. "You see this handbook. We all got one at the Town of Beginnings right?" Everyone in the crowd nodded except for me and the boy with black hair since we were so tense being the very people Kibao accused "Of course we did so what!?" "You know who was handing these out? The Ex-Beta testers. Everyone had equal information but some still died. It ain't their fault."
After the little scuffle the meeting continued as Diavel pulled out said hand book. "The information on the boss is right here in this handbook you all just heard about!" Everyone looked at him surprised "The boss's name is Illfang the Kobold Lord, when the boss spawns he spawns in a bunch of Kobold sentinels with him. We will have a few teams deal with them but I want the majority of us to focus on Illfang. He wields a large ax until his last health bar hits red, that's when he pulls out a towar and changes his attacks. Now I want all of you to party up! A party should be around 6 people or more!" I looked around nervously seeing pretty much everyone partying up already until I turned to my left and saw the black haired boy talking to another person wearing a cloak hiding their face. I shuffled over to them "Hey can I join your guys' party?" He looked at me hesitantly before inviting me "Thanks." I said before shuffling back towards my spot. "Great! Now we leave tomorrow at 10 AM! Be ready!"
