Standing on the set from the last scene, we had just wrapped up filming for the day.
I gaze at Adrien who's still got his magistrate wig on.
How can someone look so delightful in one of those
Another crew member steps in and hands him a cheap looking white robe to wear.
Adrien still had one very small part left for the film, drunkenly riding horseback. That would be it.
Walking alongside me outside the movie sets, we make way for his trailer again.
Adrien was silent.
"Is something wrong?" I asked.
He looked over at me with scrunched brows, a frown on his face. "I just thought my part in this could've been a little bigger. Instead I'm made out to be a drunk womanizer." He continued. "I know it's just a part, but sometimes I wonder. Y'know?" His New Yorker accent thickened with his tempered voice.
I draped my arm around his side as we walked, "Well, I'm sure this is just one of many stepping stones for you. Could be worse, you could've landed another Summer of Sam role." I giggled a little thinking of him dancing with that body pillow.
Or the blue underwear he was wearing as he came down the stairs. First full shot of his character in that film by the way.
Adrien laughed.
"Oh come on, You saw that?"
"Of course I did! It was one of my favorites. Couldn't believe you used to be a male dancer." I teased.
"Hey, I was the hottest one there and those old dudes knew it. Even with my spikey hair and blonde mohawk." Adrien laughed again. "That thing was so hard to keep up with during filming." He looked down, a slight smile at the ground.
"At least I made you smile handsome."
He looked up at me, a little smirk and head nod from him. "Yeah, I guess you did." The smile now stretched across his face.
"Let's go out and have some fuckin' fun, what do you say Calista?" He nudges me with his elbow.
"I still have about an hour or so left here on set. But I'm happy to do something with you afterwards."
Pushing in front of me, he opens the door of his trailer, and holds it open for me. Bowing his head as I enter.
Adrien comes in and changes his clothes while I look down my checklist on my clipboard for the day.
There were two things left to do and then technically I can leave early, but I'm going to check with Angela again before I do.
While glancing over my clipboard, a hand pulls it down, meeting eyes with Adrien we exchange smiles.
"You look so beautiful when you're focused." He winked and pinched my cheek. "Are you hungry, do you want me to get you something?" His eyes glistening while staring into mine, almost like he's asking something else.
I could feel my pupils dilate, his did too.
"No, I'm okay. There's some lunch they brought in to the break room earlier. Might go snack on that."
"Well, why don't I walk with you?"
He guides me out of the trailer after a quick wardrobe change.
While we're walking beside each other, his hand reaches for mine.
I want to hold it.
I want to climb onto this man like he's a fucking jungle gym.
But we're on the lot, and I'm sure it would be a lot easier if we kept this to ourselves.
Not that I'd ever be ashamed of him, but it has a better chance to blossom with no outside disturbances.
Pulling my hand away I can tell he's a little offset by it, but he brushes it off quickly.
Inside the building I'll grab a quick bite to eat then get back to the job.
Maybe Adrien will stick around.
I'm seperated from Adrien and shuffled back outside by a fellow stage hand. Two men who looked like fellow coworkers stood outside, Angela in the middle.
She approached me.
A quick glance and a push on her glasses, she speaks. "Calista, I wanted to speak with you about your work on this film."
My eyes got wide.
"Firstly, such a wonderful job you've been doing with Adrien. And all the help you've done around set has gotten some serious praise from a few higher ups." She smiled. "That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about." Angela paused. "Mr. Brody's agent called me. Says he is very perplexed on how you've tamed Adrien. Doesn't know what it is about you, but all the other people he's had in the past had quit." She looked at me with intent. "Adrien is doing some film work for a new movie out in Germany, The Grand Budapest Hotel. They want you to come with him and stay at the hotel."
I smiled looking at her, "So when do I start?"
"Well dear, it seems you'll be leaving sooner rather than later. Once we're done with Adriens final scene tomorrow, they want you inbound to Germany with him. His agent said he'd be taking care of your transportation arrangements." Angela smiled at me warmly. "It's been great having you. I'm sure you're going to be off doing some great things out there." With a smile, she turned and left with the two coworkers.
We'd of course be in touch if she needs another makeup artist.
Suppose I should be asking Adrien about all of this.
Not sure how I feel about it. All of the sudden it's mixing business with pleasure. Would've been nice to be asked before everything was all arranged.
Walking back inside, I see him standing in the corner, mingling with other actors and such.
He spots me and smiles.
Trying my best to contain my emotions, I almost dashed up to him.
"What's this about me coming to Germany with you?" I asked.
Adrien blushed and shrugged his shoulders. "Believe it or not I actually didn't have anything to do with it." He laughed.
"But you knew you were leaving for Germany tomorrow, and didn't bother to tell me?" Almost a hint of sorrow in my voice. I straighten up.
He sighed and frowned. "I knew for maybe a week or so that I was going, but no one could tell me for sure when I'd be leaving." He looked at me a little disappointed. "Honestly, I hadn't said anything about you to my agent. He just asked me how I liked my new makeup artist, and I told him how lovely you were."
My cheeks flushed red.
Adrien kissed my rosey cheek.
"Don't worry about it. At least now we know we'll be there together, alright? You're worried, I get that." He embraced me, "I'm not going anywhere, okay?" He said as he ran his fingers through my hair. "Even if I would've gone to Germany by myself, you don't think I would'nt found a way to take you?" He kissed my forehead. "I'm right here, princess."
My legs felt like jelly.
"That's so cute." Adrien smirked.
"What is?"
"The look on your face when you thought I was going to leave you without saying anything." He picked my chin up with a firm grip in his hand. "Such a sweet and innocent thing you are, don't worry so much." A sweet peck on the lips.*Next few scenes will be from The Grand Budapest Hotel*
*If and when I run out of ideas, I'll place in one shot stories of some of his best roles*
