in his hotel room
Nickel screeches
"BB NO!! THERE'S NO WAY I'M DOING THIS!!"
Baseball screams right back at me
"YOU HAVE TO! YOU CAN'T BE STUCK LIKE THIS FOREVER!!"
tears form in my eyes
"I CAN'T! HE DOESN'T LIKE ME-!"
he interjects
"Have you seen the way he looks at you-!?"
hot tears roll down my face
he sees the anguish in my eyes and hugs me
"Just trust me..."
"Fine..."
no pov:
a few hours later
nickel stands in his room wringing his hands. he looks nervous as balloon enters the room, his light coral hair obscuring one of his eyes. nickel just stands there for a moment, his ice-like eyes staring the boy up and down.
balloon breaks the silence
"Why did you call me here...?"
the gray-haired boy just looks down at his beat-up sneakers, avoiding the green-eyed boys attempted eye contact.
"I... I just.."
he remembers what baseball told him
"just act natural! confident! He loves that!"
he takes a deep breath

"I need to talk to you about something. its been weighing on me for a while, and I need to let it out."
"Okay..?"
"I... I like you balloon. no- love you balloon."

he clutches his steel gray hair, tears forming in his eyes

balloon walks up and hugs him, tears welling up in his own eyes
he says 4 words that nickel would have never expected to be directed at himself
